£0FREE Shipping on this item within 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A beautifully designed tallboy chest of five drawers. This piece was designed by Alfred Cox and hand made in the Alfred Cox furniture factory for sale via Heals of London. They have beautiful quarter drawn walnut grain, reflective of the quality of timber used. We adore the grain, the lines and particularly the legs and base. The drawers are all free running and have very clean internals. They are gradated in depth from top to bottom and retain all of their original bespoke tuned handles, from solid walnut. There is one small ‘ding’ to the top edge of the 3rd drawer – approximately 4mm in width. Hardly noticeable but we have to mention it for honesty of condition.
These Alfred Cox pieces are rapidly becoming a 60’s design classic and can only increase in value if looked after well. We have another set of these tallboy drawers and two different styles of console tables/ dressing tables/ TV stands available too. All beautiful and all by Alfred Cox of the same design and period – should you want a matching suite.

Read moreEarly 20th Century Fire Bucket with Original Cast Iron Hook C
£0FREE UK Delivery on this item.
A superb early 20th Century fire bucket (circa 1900-1910), complete with its original stunning cast iron hanging hook. We acquired 8 of these buckets in total and they came directly from the train station where they were fitted in 1909 (sign hanging above was dated). They all offer the perfect aged red colour and lovely patina. It is getting hard to find these buckets in original paint and finish but not all beaten up and dented etc. There are many buckets trying to be original out there, later painted in red paint and stencilled but these buckets are completely original and superb.
This bucket looks like it has been in true action putting out a fire and we LOVE that. Look closely at the paint finish and covering of something that has been burning landing on the bucket. A fabulous testament to its history. Priceless.
These would look amazing hung beside an open fire or log burner, holding logs, kindling, firelighters etc. Or in a commercial setting as an authentic display piece. Or they make great garden planters with a difference.
