A Victorian styled English Dresser with glazed doors by Waring & Gillow. Waring & Gillow were formed in 1897 by merging Gillows of Lancaster with Warings of Liverpool. Waring’s of Liverpool was founded by John Waring, who arrived in the city from Belfast in 1835 and established a wholesale cabinet making business. He was succeeded by his son Samuel James Waring who rapidly expanded the business during the 1880s, furnishing hotels and public buildings throughout Europe. He also founded Waring-White Building Company which built the Liverpool Corn Exchange, Selfridge’s department store and the Ritz Hotel.

A very stylish mid Century Architect/ Plan chest of drawers in a beautiful rich walnut colour. These drawers came to us from an 85 year old artist that was finally ‘retiring’. She painted, printed and framed for over 60 years from her home studio.
We gave the piece a full clean and gentle restoration to really make it shine again. The colour and grain are superb. Made from oak they have been stained (from new) in a rich golden brown walnut colour, that has just got better and better over the decades. All the drawers are solid and free running with exceptionally clean interiors. These chests are incredibly popular and are hard to find in a condition and size like this. We have seen these chest sell at £1200-1800. This chest splits in to two sections for easier transportation and positioning in to the room of your choice. Immense storage in stunning style and exceptional condition. These chests are never with us long.

A stunning example of an original antique book case or drinks cabinet with beautiful astragal glazing to the doors. The cabinetry is in exceptional original condition. All of the glass in the doors is original too but there is one crack to the left door (please see the close up photograph). You don’t notice the crack until you are very close but we do have to mention it! We could quite easily replace it but for the cosmetic effect it has, we felt it was best to leave the original glass in and reflect it in the price.
This beautiful piece is presented in perfectly aged mahogany with its original astragal glazed doors, glass, lock and key. The shelves are easily adjustable in height by moving the brass supports up or down within the unit. The cabinet is set on superbly carved ball and claw feet. Even the brass locking bolts and hinges are completely original and beautifully preserved.
We re-finished the back in Farrow & Ball Wevet eggshell. This gave the piece a contemporary facelift to bring it bang on trend for 2021. What a perfectly gorgeous gin cabinet? It would be very hard to find a more beautiful example than this?

A very cute desk dating from around the 1950’s to 60’s. It is presented in original condition throughout with a super original condition top and plenty of drawers for storing all those magazines, papers, mail etc. It is an adult height desk and could be used as one. Alternatively it could be a great hall table, dressing table or teenager’s desk, amongst other uses. All drawers are exceptionally clean and run very freely. Industrial desk of this age are rarely found in such good condition due to their heavy use in factories and years of being banged around.
This has an industrial style but in the cutest package.
