An exceptional 6 drawer Architect/ Plan chest of drawers on original legs, by Abbess. These drawers came to us in a tired old brown stain, peeling away. They are completely original and pretty rare to have their original legs and base still present. We fully stripped away the old brown varnish, sanded the whole carcass, frame, drawers and handles. Then we refinished the piece in a matt black paint for the carcass and original handles with a clear satin finish varnish to the gorgeous oak finish.
We think the colour and grain are now superb. The drawers make a fantastic kitchen island or of course artist drawers, drawers for collectors, a TV stand with a difference etc etc. Use them exactly where you need them. Immense storage in stunning style and gorgeous condition. These chests are never with us long and we completely understand why

A beautiful late 19th Century Victorian cupboard in mahogany. It dates from around 1870 to 1900 and is in beautiful antique condition. The mahogany has aged perfectly to give a finish only time can produce. Internally it is original and clean condition with all original brassware to the doors. The exterior is classic and very stylish with hand carved corbels to the upper flanks. There is also a pull out tray section below the top surface.
We think it would make a stunning statement piece to finish off a hallway, living room, kitchen/ diner etc.

A fantastic example of a mid century stacking glazed book case by Minty of Oxford. This is the only one we have seen standing on its original black base and legs. A rare model owned privately from new in 1958, complete with original stamped receipt from Minty, London, SW1.
Minty produced some really nice quality bookcases from the early 20th Century to the late 20th Century, usually in a dark oak. This one is perfectly coloured and completely original throughout. The bottom two sections are high and deep enough to store 12 vinyls, magazines or large books. It splits down in to individual sections for ease of moving to the room of your choice.
Very stylish and super on trend at the moment.

An amazing desk in solid English oak, dating from 1929. These desks typically came from a Government office/ Public Service such as Civil Servant Offices, Schools, Railways etc. This desk is in beautiful condition with age related marks to the top surface. The desk was owned from new and was the work desk of a father that passed down the desk to his daughter, when he no longer needed it. The beautiful brass cup handles also carry the GR and Crown stamps. The three generous drawers all run freely. There are cosmetic marks and signs of use to the original top but it is in exceptional condition for its age (and we have sold a fair few of these desks). Please see photographs.
We have had a number of these George V and George VI desks and they always sell so so quickly.
This will only get better with age and appreciate in value. A superb quality antique desk.

152m Wide, 91cm Deep, 76.5cm High
