An amazing desk in solid oak, dating from the 1930’s. These desks typically came from a Government office/ Public Service such as Civil Servant Offices, Schools, Railways etc. This desk came to us form a school in Lincolnshire. It is stamped with GR VI and the crown on the underside of the desk. The beautifully aged brass cup handles are all original. All three drawers run smoothly and have been sanded back to the bottoms and cleaned.
Now presented in a beautifully aged oak colour that only time can offer. The desk top has only very minor cosmetic imperfections (please see photographs). We have had a number of these George V and George VI desks and they always sell so so quickly.

An excellent example of an original mid century low glazed bookcase/ unit/ in teak, with original glass and wood sliding doors. Produced around the mid to late 1950’s this is a very nice example from the Herbert Gibbs Autograph range. A great size, super colour with original adjustable shelves and original glass. The doors are completely original too.
It offers lots of mid Century style and very flexible storage capabilities as a bookcase, drinks cabinet, etc. It can easily be accommodated in to living, dining or bedroom styling. A beautifully designed chest of five drawers. This piece was designed by Alfred Cox and hand made in the Alfred Cox furniture factory predominantly for sale via Heals of London. They have beautiful quarter drawn Australian walnut grain, reflective of the quality of timber used. We adore the grain, the lines and particularly the legs and base. The drawers are all free running and have clean internals. They are gradated in depth from top to bottom and retain all of their original handles. There is one small area of damage to the bottom right hand corner. Hardly noticeable unless pointed out – but we do for transparency.
These Alfred Cox pieces are rapidly becoming a 60’s design classic and can only increase in value if looked after well.
