An original mid Century metal cased Emergency Exit light up sign. It dates from around the late 1940’s to late 1950’s. The black metal casing is totally original and has some fantastic patina to it, reflecting the heritage and use in a cinema theatre. The frosted glass is still present in both the front section and strip below (please see photographs). The light can be sat on a surface, as photographed or hung from chains (supplied). The light has been rewired with 3 core black twisted fabric cable for safety. It can be wired in to your lighting circuit to switch on via a switch or a plug added to simply plug in to a socket. Please ensure you use qualified tradesmen for correct wiring in to the circuit.
We have three available and there may be slight variations in the metal casing patina. All are as identical as can be, to the one photographed

A beautiful glazed bookcase/ cabinet with very elegant lines and astragal glazing to the doors. We estimate the piece to have been made between the late 1940’s and late 1950’s but very much in a classic Edwardian style. It has some very typical astragal glazing pattern of Edwardian cabinets, tapered legs and fluted framework. The cabinetry is in super original condition. All of the glass in the doors is original too, along with the original handles and push button opening latches. With three internal shelves (top two are removable) it offers some very stylish and super flexible storage.
This cabinet is presented in perfectly aged mahogany. There are some small cosmetic scratches on the internal shelves, mainly on the top shelf, as photographed. Please see photographs. We re-finished the back in a white finish to give the piece a contemporary facelift and bring it bang on trend for 2022. What a perfectly gorgeous bookcase, drinks cabinet, gin cabinet etc?

A superb large double pedestal desk dating to the late 1920’s to early 1930’s. It is constructed from beautifully aged oak solid throughout. We had to refurbish the top due to sun fading and wear from use. It is now cleaned, refurbished and ready to be treasured. The desk offers lots of storage space with six drawers in total. The bottom drawer of the right hand pedestal is a double height filing type drawer. It is presented in a beautiful aged rich oak with all handles totally original and free from splits, cracks or missing areas – as is so often the case with desks of this age. It is solid, heavyweight and offers a superb work surface for regular use. A piece to be used, admired and treasured.
The desk does not disassemble so please measure all door widths and access points (e.g. stairs, turning points) before purchasing.

This bench is mid Century, circa 1960’s from and old school/ gym changing rooms. The bench is well made, by hand, with dovetail joints to mark the quality of construction and to give a solid sturdy seat. The shoe baskets are made from thick grade galvanised steel with the perfectly aged colour and wear. The bench is a great size and has a really good weight to make it useable for everyday use in a hallway, entrance, boot room etc. It could even be a wine rack with a difference?! Or a TV stand too.
A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement. These benches are incredibly popular and we always sell them so quickly when we mange to find any!

This is a gorgeous 19th Century Windsor Armchair with a beautiful fan back. It is an usual design and has generous proportions with superb colour and patina. We adore this chair as a dress chair, a very usable armchair or a statement piece in a hallway or bathroom – with a fresh bale of white towels sat upon it. Its proportions make it a vey comfortable chair to sit in and relax. It has had various seat pads added over its life but this all adds to its history and age. The design would have been without a seat pad, as photographed – the way we like it best. The wear on the arms and side are exactly in the right places for that look that can not be replicated without decades of regular use. The previous owner had this chair for many many years and was an employee of the MI5. We’d love to hear some of the stories this chair could tell!
All joints are solid and the chair is completely free from movement. A classic antique piece with timeless clean lines that will certainly appreciate with time.
