£0FREE Ground Floor Shipping on this item, within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Further afield and rural areas will incur a charge.
A superb 1960’s large library bookcase in mahogany. The bookcase was handmade circa 1960’s in beautifully grained mahogany. The piece has aged perfectly to a rich warm colour. It is of an impressive size and quality of construction with good deep shelves for larger books and magazines. It also retains all of its rear book stops to make sure the books do not slide straight through the open shelves.
We think the size, quality and flexibility make it a very desirable piece. It can be filled full of books if you are an avid reader or collector. Equally it looks fantastic with a mix of books and decorative pieces. Either way it will make a gorgeous style statement in the room you need it to.

£0FREE Shipping on this item within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Some more remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A very pretty matching pair of ebonised dress chairs. We estimate that they date from around the 1930’s. The chairs are very pretty and elegant. We adore the backs, especially the hand carved detail to the top of backrest. The legs and stretchers mirror the elegance with slim legs and nicely turned stretchers. The finish is ebonised which looks original to their age. We reupholstered the tired seat bases in a rich mocha coloured velvet fabric. There is one small missing centre carved section (left hand side of left chair). Hardly noticeable but we have to point it out for honesty.
All joints are solid and the chairs are free from movement. A beautiful and stylish pair of dress chairs that will complement a plethora of interior styles and colour pallettes.
Dimensions:
41.5cm Maximum Width, 81.5cm Maximum Back Height, 48cm Maximum Depth
46cm Seat Height, 37cm Seat width

Read moreSuperb Set of ESA / Esavian School Drawers by James Leonard
£0FREE delivery on this item within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Further afield locations will incur a charge to send via courier.
These school drawers dates to around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s. They are a stunning example and very rare to be still in their original condition and finish. Esavian – ESA – was the brand name for the Education Supply Association Ltd. They produced a lot of Post War school and industrial mid century furniture. Most people know the furniture from school as a lot of it was produced in the 1950s and 60s. James Leonard designed a lot of the ESA beech and ply furniture.
These drawers are in exceptional original condition both in the beech framework and the original lacquered finish. The drawers have been later mounted on good quality steel hairpin legs (as found). Internally the drawers are clean (some faint pen marks etc to be expected). They would make a fantastic TV stand!
These are incredibly popular drawers and we are finding it harder and harder to get them. Every time we manage to find a set they fly out to another very happy customer.
Dimensions: 120.5cm Wide, 75cm High, 35.5cm Max Depth
Each drawer (internally) – 30.5cm front to back, 25cm wide (fits A4 size paper), 9cm high

£0FREE Delivery on this desk within approximately 130 miles of Cambridgeshire. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
An amazing desk in solid English oak, dating from the early 1930’s. These desks typically came from a Government office/ Public Service such as Civil Servant Offices, Schools, Railways etc. This desk came to us in a dreadful state of old varnish and paint. We fully (and painstakingly) stripped the desk back to bare wood before refurbishing it and sympathetically restoring the colour and aged finish. It is now presented in a warm oak, retaining signs of wear and use to maintain the character and authenticity of the desk. The beautiful aged brass cup handles also carry the GR stamps. There are cosmetic marks and signs of use to the original green top. Please see photographs.
Two drawers have been sanded back and cleaned internally, one required a new bottom liner. They all retain their original beautifully aged brass cup handles. We have had a number of these George V and George VI desks and they always sell so so quickly.
This will only get better with age and appreciate in value. A superb quality antique desk.
Dimensions:
152m Wide, 90.5cm Deep, 76.5cm High
Please note that this desk does not disassemble. Please check all measurements to ensure the desk can pass through all doorways and access points before purchasing.

Read moreAlfred Cox Design for Heals Drawers / Dressing Table in Walnut
£0FREE Shipping on this item within approximately 130 miles of Cambridgeshire. Further afield areas will incur a charge to send via couriers.
A beautifully designed chest of three drawers with original dressing mirror above. This piece was designed by Alfred Cox and hand made in the Alfred Cox furniture factory for sale via Heals of London. This particular set was bought in 1947 and owned from new by the private owner that we managed to acquire them from. They have beautiful quarter drawn (Australian) walnut grain, reflective of the quality of timber used. We adore the grain, the lines and particularly the legs and base. The drawers are all free running and have very clean internals. They are gradated in depth from top to bottom and retain all of their original bespoke tuned handles, from solid walnut. The mirror can tilt via the adjusting slider at the back. It can also easily be removed should you want to just have the chest of drawers sat on their own in a hallway, living room etc.
These Alfred Cox pieces are rapidly becoming a mid Century design classic and can only increase in value if looked after well.
