A beautiful example of an original Art Deco antique bookcase/ cabinet with beautiful astragal glazing to the doors. We estimate the cabinet dates form the late 1920’s to early 1930’s and is English in origin. The solid oak cabinetry is in exceptional original condition. All of the glass in the doors is original too, along with the original internal bolts, lock and key. It was hand produced by skilled craftsmen in the early 20th Century. It is rare to find such a clean and completely original example. It is a super size to offer plenty of storage but not too large to be difficult to accommodate in the room of your choice.
This cabinet is presented in perfectly coloured and aged oak with a very nice weight to reflect the quality of oak and craftsmanship used. The shelves are easily removable or height adjustable from the simple peg support system inside (see photographs).

The rear legs required extending as the bench was originally fitted over heating pipes. Other than that the piece is completely original. Original legs are metal with all original paint and patina. The rear extensions have been formed from vintage solid wood before being painted black to match.

Dating from the mid 20th Century (circa 1940-50’s) this came from a school changing room. 100% original with fantastic patina all round i.e to the metal frame, the wooden seating area and even the hooks. We won’t be too upset if this doesn’t sell as we may get to keep it!
