This gym bench dates to around the late 1950’s to early 1960’s. It came from a school in Somerset and is now fully restored and cleaned. At 201.5cm wide this is a great statement piece but with heaps of practicality too. The bench top, legs and baskets are completely original in an aged silver finish with fantastic wear and original patina. We sanded back and refinished the top as it was very heavily worn, but we left the character and colour matched the finish, to make it look exactly as it should. Perfect old school styling ready for contemporary homes.
These are very popular benches and we are finding it harder and harder to get them like this. Every time we manage to find one it flies out to another very happy customer.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1950’s to early 1960’s. They came form a school in Somerset and are now full restored and cleaned – making them so cute and stylish! The bench top and baskets are completely original but we had to make up new legs as the old ones were no good. The legs are made from steel and we have added black plastic inserts at the bottom so top floors being scratched. All the perfect old school styling ready for contemporary new homes.
These are very popular benches and we are finding it harder and harder to get them like this. Every time we manage to find one it flies out to another very happy customer.

The bench may be shipped via ParcelForce with the legs off, depending on your postcode. The legs will simply bolt back on with four bolts and nuts (all supplied).

This gym/ changing bench and hooks dates to around the mid to late 1970’s and came to us straight from a factory in West Yorkshire. It is in amazing condition for its age. Constructed from steel box section and solid teak throughout it has really good solid weight and looks fantastic. It is in completely original condition. We just gave it a good clean, and teak oiled the wood for replenishment and refresh.
This piece has all the superb old school styling you could want and a really good size. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement.
We have two of these available and two benches with hooks above. Colours may vary slightly due to natural wood colouring.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1940’s to early 1950’s. It is a heavy solid piece being topped in 30mm thick iroko hardwood and having 18 shoe baskets. The bench is also a nice deep one at 31cm. SO much storage!
This bench is in super original condition both in the solid wood top and the perfectly aged galvanised steel baskets. We cleaned, sanded and refinished the bench top in a clear stain varnish as it was very tired and dirty. Most of these style of benches get bent or broken over the years but this one is in a lovely aged condition. We fully cleaned the piece. It has all the original style and character but ready for another 60+ years of use.
These are very popular benches and we are finding it harder and harder to get them like this. Every time we manage to find one it flies out to another very happy customer. This one is unlike most due to being bigger and having lots more baskets.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1940’s. It came from a school in Tring, Hertfordshire where it had been since new. Recovered by a local teacher when the school wanted to throw it away. It is vey nicely aged with superb patina to the galvanised steel baskets.
The bench slats are also a vey nicely aged colour. The rear slat has a couple of semi circles cut out where the bench obviously fitted up against water pipes. Not really noticeable but we like to point these things out. You can see them in the photographs. We fully cleaned the piece. It has all the original style and character but ready for another 60+ years of use.

This bench is in super condition both in the solid framework and the galvanised metal shoes baskets. Most of the baskets get bent or broken over the years but this one is in really good, straight condition, with perfect aged patina to the metal work. We fully cleaned the piece. These gym bench date to around the mid to late 1980’s and came to us straight from a military cadet school. A really good size in both length and depth means the shoe tray can comfortably fit adult size shoes, as well as children’s/ teens. Steel legs and tray with a good solid beech slatted top means the bench has a nice solid weight and feel to it – not like modern reproductions. These benches already look great but just age up even better.
The benches have all the superb old school styling you could want and a really good size. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement. We have 9 available in this size.
