£0FREE Shipping on this item within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Some more remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A very pretty matching pair of ebonised dress chairs. We estimate that they date from around the 1930’s. The chairs are very pretty and elegant. We adore the backs, especially the hand carved detail to the top of backrest. The legs and stretchers mirror the elegance with slim legs and nicely turned stretchers. The finish is ebonised which looks original to their age. We reupholstered the tired seat bases in a rich mocha coloured velvet fabric. There is one small missing centre carved section (left hand side of left chair). Hardly noticeable but we have to point it out for honesty.
All joints are solid and the chairs are free from movement. A beautiful and stylish pair of dress chairs that will complement a plethora of interior styles and colour pallettes.

It is from their art range, finished in a soft velvet to touch and completely innkeeping with the Art Nouveau style. We adore these chairs! £0FREE Shipping on this item. Some more remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
This is a gorgeous 19th Century Windsor Armchair with a beautiful fan back. It is an usual design and has generous proportions with superb colour and patina. We adore this chair as a dress chair, a very usable armchair or a statement piece in a hallway or bathroom – with a fresh bale of white towels sat upon it. Its proportions make it a vey comfortable chair to sit in and relax. It has had various seat pads added over its life but this all adds to its history and age. The design would have been without a seat pad, as photographed – the way we like it best. The wear on the arms and side are exactly in the right places for that look that can not be replicated without decades of regular use. The previous owner had this chair for many many years and was an employee of the MI5. We’d love to hear some of the stories this chair could tell!
All joints are solid and the chair is completely free from movement. A classic antique piece with timeless clean lines that will certainly appreciate with time.
Dimensions:
54cm Maximum Width (outside arm to outside arm), 104cm Maximum Back Height, 68cm Maximum Depth (top of back touching the wall to front feet)

£0FREE shipping on this piece. More remote and rural areas will incur a surcharge.
A stunning single cinema seat dating from the late 1920’s/ early 1930’s and displaying beautiful Art Deco side supports. The seat is totally original and was donated by J.Arthur Rank (Rank Organisation) to his local Methodist church when they had a fire in the late 1920’s/ early 30’s. We had around 2o pairs of these seats but this is our very last one. This one had a broken side support and required welding. It has been professionally welded and touched up in paint to blend in. However, we have to point this out to be accurate on its description. Please see all photographs for close up images. The condition is reflected in the price. Very well repaired and a beautiful rare chair still. The wood is solid oak and the side supports are cast iron with a beautifully aged golden colour still present. Original paint finish on cast iron forged legs.
The seat pads and back supports are in a very very dark green but inside and out of bright lights the vast majority would say black.
We have added oak feet to make the chair stable and perfectly usable. If you wanted it much narrower (e.g. for a narrow hallway) you can fix the chair directly to the floor.
Grab your self a beautiful chair and a real piece of UK history.
Dimensions:
88cm back height, 44cm seat height, 58cm Wide (arm to arm), 56cm Deep (seat in the open position with the bottom feet included). 43cm Deep if the wooden feet are removed.

£0FREE Shipping on this item. Some more remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
This is a very stylish and rare early 20th Century reclining dentists chair in solid oak. It dates from the 1900’s to late 1920’s and was produced and distributed by C J Plucknett of Poland Street, London W1 (c1880-1982). C J Plucknett were better known for their fine silver ware (with a globally recognised makers stamp CJP) and also producers of fine jewellery and watches. They later became involved in the manufacture and supply of dental equipment. No that is what is called ‘diversification’?!
The chair is very well constructed form quality English oak with solid joints and small details showing the quality of handmade construction. Details such as the brass brackets on the inside of the arms to prevent any splitting of the framework from the reclining of the chair in and out of the reclining grooves. The quality and grade of leather is also very high end and another mark of the quality, as is the leather faced upholstery tacks.
We think it now makes a perfect statement chair, with a great back story and provenance. A classic antique piece with timeless clean lines that will certainly appreciate with time.
Dimensions:
63cm Maximum Width (outside arm to outside arm), 91cm Maximum Back Height, 77cm Maximum Depth (front of arms to very back of arms)
42cm Seat Height, 43cm Seat Depth, 51cm Seat Width
