An unusually sized original mid century glazed bookcase in quality oak construction. Produced in the 1960’s by Morris of Glasgow the cabinet has a really good weight and also some really nice brass ware. The door hinges are fully hinged piano hinges, adding to a quality construction feel. The size is unusual in that it is quite tall but slim. Ideal for an alcove or somewhere that is restricted on the width available. The unit is completely original with exceptional condition to the solid oak framework, original sliding glass doors and original handles and catches. Very hard to find in such outstanding original condition.
Both the top and bottom shelves are easily adjustable, or removable, by simply moving the wooden support pegs to different holes. Or removing the shelves completely, should you need to. Both doors slide easily and are free from chips. If you need any further close ups or have any questions, just ask us.

An original mid century glazed bookcase/ cabinet/ sideboard in teak. Produced in the 1960’s the cabinet has great lines and feet in a very stylish and useful package. The framework and legs are solid teak and good quality heavy glass (original) doors. The size is really versatile and offers lots of stylish storage. The unit is completely original with superb grain to the teak cabinetry. The shelf can be height adjusted at three different levels, or removed completely.
Both doors slide easily and are free from chips and scratches. The left cupboard door opens to reveal some very useful and very clean storage too. If you need any further close ups or have any questions, just ask us.

A superb mid Century glazed bookcase of impressive size and weight. It dates to around the mid to late 1960’s and is in completely original condition throughout. It is very well made form hard wood with original thick and heavy glass doors. All four doors are in excellent condition with no chips. All shelves are solid wood with their original supports which allow height adjustments, or can easily be removed. The top glass doors are also very easy to removed should you prefer and open top section with glazed bottom. It could be used as a bookcase, Drinks cabinet, display cabinet or a complete mix of all of them! You choose.

An excellent example of an original mid century glazed bookcase, produced by Staverton in the 1950’s and 60’s. This one is clearly stamped 1962 on the back to date it accurately (please see photographs). It is produced from high quality radial cut English oak and oak veneer with ply internals and section dividers. All of the glass is complete with no cracks. The condition is excellent for the year. It has been gently and sympathetically brought back to its best by us, without over restoring and stripping all of the patina and character away. It is in exceptional condition for the age with beautiful colour and natural patina. Two of the pigeon holes do have some stains that could not be removed. Please see photographs. Clearly these can be covered to hide the stains but we have to show them for honesty and transparency.
With it’s simple lines, quality of oak and carpentry it is a beautiful vintage classic. These glazed Staverton bookcases are pretty rare now. Our pricing research could only find one other for sale at £1399 plus delivery costs.

Produced around the early to mid 1960’s this is a really clean and completely original example by Minty of Oxford. Minty were well renowned for their quality hardwood bookcases and are now very sought after. A great size, superb colour with original glass and lockable top section (one key present).
