A beautiful quality example of an original astragal glazed drinks cabinet in mahogany. The piece dates from the mid Century and is presented in a beautiful grain and original finish. There are so many signs that tell you of the high quality of this piece – most notably:-
The vertical beads between the doors are made of good quality brass, not the usual wood
The quality of the carving to the claw feet and shoulders of the cabriole legs
The detail and sharpness to the carving of the top plinth
The quality of heavy gauge brass used for the internal bolts
Each individual pane of glass has been fixed in place
Even the escutcheons have detail to them
The backs of the glazed sections have been stripped and refinished in Farrow & Ball Wevet for a more contemporary look. The cabinet sits on beautiful legs.
What a perfectly gorgeous gin / drinks cabinet, bookcase, display cabinet – you choose!
