Exceptional Chest of Georgian Drawers in Oak

£0

FREE shipping on this item. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.

A truly stunning and unusual chest of  Georgian drawers dating from around the late 1700’s to early 1800’s. They are presented in a beautifully coloured solid oak finish with outstanding radial cut oak grain showing. The chest is a very heavy piece reflecting the quality of oak used and the skilled craftsmanship in the solid wood carpentry throughout.  The drawers are configured in a graduated set of two over three drawers with an unusual array of smaller drawers down the sides, behind each panel. The brass handles and escutcheons have real weight and presence. Typical Georgina design. The four central drawers have locks and one key for all drawers. The key does not lock the two side panels, which enclose the small drawers.

The piece shows some small old repairs repair which have all been done well and colour blended. Perfectly normal for a piece of this age. Please see all photographs and just ask if you would like further photographs or have any questions over the condition.  The style is classically Georgian but we have no seen a configuration of drawers like this before. It seems to blend a chest of drawers with a Wellington chest. They are beautifully and classically designed and will blend with many interior styles and colour schemes.

This chest will look perfect in almost any room you choose. It’s a real keeper!

Dimensions: 102cm High, 126m Wide, 50cm Deep
