An unusual set original mid century steel filing drawers by Art Metal (London, SW1). Most of these cabinets are by Roneo. Art Metal cabinets are much harder to find; especially in this condition Great colour, nice detail to the drawer fronts and perfect brass ware. A very nice size for home or office. The cabinet comes complete with key for the lock. The cabinet and drawers have all been fully cleaned and the runners re-oiled. Superb condition for its age with plenty of industrial design and character. Industrial style and practicality all rolled in to one.

A truly exceptional large index card cabinet dating from the 1930’s. We were told that this came from a Bank, where it spent it’s life from new.
At 172cm tall with solid, thick oak frame and drawer fronts this piece weighs approximately 100kg – reflecting the quality of manufacture and the expense when new. Two drawer fronts had to be replaced due to damage. All 58 other drawers, fronts and label holders are original.
In excellent vintage condition this is certainly a statement piece of furniture for a room that needs that wow! We have shown how amazing this would be as a wine rack but there are plenty of other uses for collectors, commercial display/ storage, socks, ties, scarves etc etc.
We have not seen another like this one and it will surely appreciate in value due to it’s size, quality, and scarcity.
