A very stylish set of teak drawers with sleek and minimalist lines. This chest of six graduated drawers is fully original throughout. Constructed from teak and teak veneer the piece has some quality touches with a nice overall weight. The drawers are in good original condition, with minor signs of use from their 60 years of age (see photographs). All siz drawers are very clean inside and run exactly as they should.
The top drawer did have the makers sticker but has been removed. Most likely Austinsuite or GPlan but can not confirm. All handles are original.
This would make a super style upgrade in your space.

A very clean set of teak drawers by UNIFLEX. Designed by Gunther Hoffstead and Peter Hayward, UNIFLEX brought revolutionary design in the 1950’s and 60’s, competing with G Plan, Ercol and the other large names. UNIFLEX offered more minimalistic designs that were not so popular in the mid Century but clearly very much appreciated now. This chest of four graduated drawers has a very clean and classic design. Constructed from teak and teak veneer the piece has some quality touches, such as the top drawer parquetry. The drawers are in good original condition, with just one small area of old repair/ infill at the rear right hand corner (see photograph). All four drawers are very clean inside and run exactly as they should.
The top drawer retains the original UNIFLEX stamp for authenticity. All handles are original.
This would make a super design statement piece in your space.

An exceptional and hard to find full 10 drawer Architect/ Plan chest of drawers produced for Staverton. The drawers were originally supplied to Staverton RAF Base but later found their way to local Government and BT offices. We bought them from a private owner who purchased the drawers from his employer before retirement. The chest and drawers have been fully refurbished. All of the drawers run as they should. Internally the drawers are very clean. All in all a pretty unique and gorgeous piece!
We adore the design, colour and size of the chest. A very rare find in this condition. The chest splits in to two sections for transportation and siting.

An exceptional 6 drawer Architect/ Plan chest of drawers on original legs, by Abbess. These drawers came to us in a tired old brown stain, peeling away. They are completely original and pretty rare to have their original legs and base still present. We fully stripped away the old brown varnish, sanded the whole carcass, frame, drawers and handles. Then we refinished the piece in a matt black paint for the carcass and original handles with a clear satin finish varnish to the gorgeous oak finish.
We think the colour and grain are now superb. The drawers make a fantastic kitchen island or of course artist drawers, drawers for collectors, a TV stand with a difference etc etc. Use them exactly where you need them. Immense storage in stunning style and gorgeous condition. These chests are never with us long and we completely understand why.
The chest does split in two for transportation and the legs/ base can also be screwed off, should you need to. The drawers can easily be removed to help with moving/ delivering/ siting in the room of your choice.

Alfred Cox pieces were sold in high quality retailers, including Heals of London. The piece is long and heavy, reflective of the quality of Australian Walnut wood used. The main cabinetry is made of beautifully grained walnut, complemented by teak and beech to the lower frame/ legs. All of the drawers and internal sections of the piece are clean and run freely.
With two cupboard areas and 3 drawers there is a vast array of storage space available. It could be used as a TV stand and media unit, drinks cabinet and books etc etc. Amazing mid century styling in a beautiful finish by a very well regarded name. It’s got it all.

Gordon Russell pieces were sold in high quality retailers, including Heals of London. The piece is in beautiful vintage condition with a good weight, reflective of the quality of Walnut wood used. The main cabinetry is made of beautifully grained walnut, complemented by teak and beech to the handles and lower frame/ legs. All of the drawers and internal sections of the piece are clean and run freely. The Gordon Russell of Broadway label is still attached to the rear, for provenance.

A beautifully designed chest of five drawers. This piece was designed by Alfred Cox and hand made in the Alfred Cox furniture factory predominantly for sale via Heals of London. They have beautiful quarter drawn Australian walnut grain, reflective of the quality of timber used. We adore the grain, the lines and particularly the legs and base. The drawers are all free running and have clean internals. They are gradated in depth from top to bottom and retain all of their original handles. There is one small area of damage to the bottom right hand corner. Hardly noticeable unless pointed out – but we do for transparency.
These Alfred Cox pieces are rapidly becoming a 60’s design classic and can only increase in value if looked after well.
