c1950’s Solid Teak Bookcases from Kings College London

£0

FREE ground floor delivery on this item. Some more remote and rural locations will incur a charge.

We have a selection of these stunning bookcases that came from Kings College London. They originally date from the late 1950’s. They were rescued from destruction by a senior professor of Cardiology that pioneered the chemicals used to safely stop the heart whilst heart surgery is performed.  He purchased various cupboards and bookcases from Kings College and had them shipped to his home. The carcasses are all made from solid teak with beautiful dovetail joints to mark the quality of hand made craftsmanship. They retain their original glass, internal bolts and catches, handles and internal shelf height adjustment system. Even the internal shelves are solid teak of 25mm depth, marking the quality.

Beautiful mid Century quality and a true piece of UK academic history, with supporting provenance.

Dimensions:

91.5cm High, 91.5cm Wide, 31.5cm Max depth.

The bookcases can be sat next to each other and screwed together or stacked on top of each other if you need more space. We also have two bookcases that are single door width only (circa 47cm wide).
