This gym/ changing bench dates to around the early to mid 1970’s and came to us from a school in East London. It is in amazing condition for its age. Constructed from steel box section and solid teak throughout it has really good solid weight and looks fantastic. It is in completely original condition. We just gave it a good clean, and teak oiled the wood for replenishment and refresh.
This piece has all the superb old school styling you could want and a really cute size. A perfect way of tidying up a smaller hallway or children’s bedroom whilst adding a real style statement.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s. It came from a school in Shipley, West Yorkshire. The size make s a real statement and would be perfect for a long hallway at home or a business reception area. The baskets are unusually large, allowing size 11+ shoes to be easily accommodated and also tall enough to fit ankle boots. The top has perfectly aged wear but presents a beautiful colour and sheen. The baskets have the signs of decades of use and wear – again perfectly aged to show their authenticity. All the perfect old school styling ready for a contemporary new home.
These are very popular benches and we are finding it harder and harder to get them like this. Every time we manage to find one it flies out to another very happy customer.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s. It came from a ballet school in Cambridgeshire, where it was used daily until we acquired it. We have two available. This one at 185cm long and a shorter one at 1414cm. They have just been gently cleaned and refreshed as we adore the complete originality of them. The top has perfectly aged wear but presents a beautiful colour and sheen. The baskets have the signs of decades of use and wear – again perfectly aged to show their authenticity. All the perfect old school styling ready for contemporary new homes.

This gym bench dates to around the mid to late 1950’s. It is a very rare find being produced by ESA. Esavian – ESA – was the brand name for the Education Supply Association Ltd. They produced a lot of Post War school and industrial mid century furniture. Most people know the furniture from school as a lot of it was produced in the 1950s and 60s. James Leonard designed a lot of the ESA beech and ply furniture.
This bench is in super original condition both in the beech framework and the true and square shoes baskets. Most of the baskets get bent or broken over the years but this one is in really good, straight condition, with perfect aged patina to the metal work. Please note this is around 60 years old and will bear signs of use and wear. Please see all photographs for the true condition before purchasing. It has all the original style and character, ready for another 60+ years of use.

This bench is in the style of the old school mid Century gym benches in the changing rooms. We are unsure of the age and estimate it is only 1990’s. However, it is of heavyweight construction with a solid oak bench top and solid steel baskets. It is not a lightweight imported piece. We acquired it from a private client in Bayswater, London. We love the style and quality – and having baskets deep enough for ankle boots!
