A gorgeously simple mid Century desk. We love the very clean lines, the colour and condition of this desk. It is a classic in that it will never age and fit with so many interior themes and colour pallets. The desk is nicely sized for home – not too big but more than capable of being a regular use desk with its generous work surface and tow drawers for storage. A gorgeous warm tone just finishes the piece perfectly. And with such a generous space between the legs it can accommodate a modern wider desk chair, or a more classic one.
Please note that the desk does not disassemble. You should double check that the desk will pass through all doorways and turns before purchasing. Any questions then please just ask us.

A beautiful antique desk in solid English oak, dating from the 193o’s. It was supplied by the Crown for Military or Civil Service use. These desks typically came from a Government office/ Public Service such as Civil Servant Offices, Schools, Railways etc. We restored the oak framework as the original brown finish was dark and very inconsistent. It looked very tired indeed! We re-finished it in a very flexible warm mid oak which always seems to be our most popular finish for desks. All three drawers are free running, have been sanded and cleaned internally. The drawers retain their perfectly aged original brass handles, stamped with the Crown and GR (George Regina). The top is the original gorgeous green finish, with very few cosmetic marks form its past. Nothing that detracts from the desk in any way but we like to point out any issues and also show in the photographs. Now very fresh and ready for regular use.
This will only get better with age and appreciate in value. A superb quality antique desk.
Please not that the desk does not disassemble. The top may be removed but would only change the depth by a few centimetres. You should double check that the desk will pass through all doorways and turns before purchasing. Any questions then please just ask us.

£0FREE Delivery on this desk. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A beautiful antique desk in solid English oak, dating from the late 192o’s to early 1930’s. It is completely original throughout, with the original leather top and superbly aged brass cup handles. We adore the shape of the legs. The desk is perfectly sized for home – nice and wide but not too deep to be able to pass through most doorways. A very nicely sized work surface but not a mission to be able to get in to the room you need. Both drawers run freely and are clean inside. The leather top does have two old tears of circa 3cm each (please see photographs) but they are to the side and could easily be hidden under a lamp or plant if you prefer.

£0FREE Delivery on this desk within 10 working days. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A beautiful desk in solid English oak, dating from the early 20th Century. It dates from around 1900-1920 and carries very distinctive Arts & Crafts movement lines, especially in the turned and tapered legs. It is very well constructed and a good weight for its size; reflecting the quality of oak and carpentry used in its construction. We suspect that the drawer handles are a later addition, though are good quality, heavy and do have some significant age. There is no central kneehole drawer it is a façade only. The top right hand drawer is an unusual box file construction, accessed from the rear of the drawer once removed from the pedestal. The other drawer is a regular, free running drawer (see photographs).
The size of the desk makes it very versatile as an occasional use adult desk, an older child/ teenager’s desk, a console/ hall table, dressing table etc etc.
We think it is a classic ‘keeper’ of a genuine antique desk that will move rooms and interior decor styles over the years.

A beautiful mid century desk in solid oak and beech frame with superb solid oak grain drawers, dating from the mid 195o’s to early 1960’s. These desks typically came from a Government office/ Public Service such as Civil Servant Offices, Schools, Railways etc. This particular desk came form Swaffham Twon Council in Norfolk, where it was used until very recently. The top is the original but has been repainted in a Matt black. There are some small cosmetic indentations in the top (please see photographs) but the condition is exceptional for its age.
