£0FREE Shipping on this item within approximately 130 miles of Cambridgeshire. Further afield areas will incur a surcharge to send via couriers.
An excellent example of an original stacking bookcase in oak. Produced around the 1940’s to early 1950’s by Gunn and distributed by Angus of London. This is a really clean example. It is in perfectly aged and coloured quarter drawn oak – showing the high quality oak grain. It retains the original Gunn makers label, together with the Angus stamp. This four-section stacking bookcase has all of its original pull handles in brass, complete with wear, commensurate with its age. All sections have ‘up and over’ opening doors. Each section can be separated for easy transportation and assembly.
The Gunn Furniture Company originated in Grand Rapids Michigan. Founded by William S Gunn, a furniture workshop was added to his hardware products in 1874. The company passed to his son, William A Gunn after his death in 1909. It became famous for desks and in the 1910s and 20s, the company began to produce sectional bookcases.
It can easily be accommodated in to living, dining or bedroom styling. Fantastic and highly desirable, with clean lines that offers incredible value for money.
