£0FREE Delivery on this bench within approximately 10 days. Further afield, remote and rural areas will incur a surcharge.
A superb French antique wooden bench dating from the turn of the 19th/20th Century in a beautifully coloured and aged fruitwood. We have a matching pair of these benches available (price is for one bench). The construction is good and solid with tight mortice and tenon joints to the framework. Clearly made by skilled carpenters not just crudely put together. The benches are in really nice antique condition. Some cosmetic wear marks but really good for their age and previous uses.
The benches are nice and slim for narrow hallways or spaces, not taking up too much space but offering a very usable and solid bench for taking shoes on and off – or a bathroom bench etc.
201cm Long, Depth Max. 29cm (bottom of the feet), 15.5cm wide bench top.
Seat height 46.5cm

£0FREE Ground Floor Shipping on this item within approximately 10 days. More remote and rural areas will incur a surcharge.
This is a beautiful early 20th Century church pew made from solid mahogany. The condition of the pew is very good and the whole bench is structurally sound with no joint movements. It is a very unusual and pretty design for a church pew. Most pews are much simpler in their design and lines. The original finish was dull and very dark so we refinished in Farrow and Ball Green Smoke – which we think accentuates the pretty lines and brings the piece in to the 2020’s. Ready for another 100 year’s of use.
We think this would make a beautiful dining bench or hallway bench.
Dimensions:
207cm Wide, 81cm Back Height, 38cm Maximum Depth
35cm Seat Depth, 46cm Seat Height

A fantastic Hungarian settle bench dating from around 1870-1900. Made in pine it is so stylish but very practical too. Can seat 3 people comfortably and up to 4. A fantastic alternative to chairs at the main dining table or a superb hall bench. The storage underneath also offers a real benefit to store shoes, cushions, blankets, dog leads, coats etc.
The bench has been painted relatively recently in a white Eggshell finish (semi sheen). The natural wear edges have also been slightly distressed to give the piece character and a nod to its antique heritage. A very stylish and very practical bench. These are certainly getting harder to find.

Read more19th Century Rustic Hall / Luggage Bench
£0FREE Delivery on this item within approximately 10 working days. Some more remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A superb rustic style 19th Century hall / luggage bench in elm. The bench dates from around 1870-1900 and is hand made from solid elm throughout. We adore the perfectly aged colour and patina it offers for that country cottage hallway style. It is almost oversized in its dimensions, giving it another stand out feature to make a true statement piece. The legs are splayed and hexagonal giving it extra thought to the hand made design features. It cold be used as a bench to seat one at a time, otherwise it flexes too much across the middle. It could also be a decorative piece used and styled like a console table. However you choose to style and use it, it is a superbly rustic piece ready for the right spot.
Dimensions:
176cm Wide, 55cm Seat Height, Seat Depth 39cm.

£0FREE Shipping on this item within around 10 working days. More remote and further afield destinations will incur a charge.
This is a beautiful 19th Century pew made from solid antique pitch pine. We have a matching pair available that came from the Kirklees Hall Estate in West Yorkshire. The condition of the pews is excellent for the age (c1870-90). The benches are solid and structurally sound with no joint movements. The colour is perfect as is the overall patina and feel of the pew. The pews are numbered on each end to add more authenticity and provenance. With shoes rails below the pews are extraordinary in many ways and in fact a very rare find. Each pew is very heavy and probably weighs 40kgs each – reflecting the quality and thickness of the wood used when made by hand.
We love the quality, design and size, making them stand out from the masses of pews available. The size is very easy to accommodate and lends itself to being very flexible on how it can be styled and used in your home. It would make a beautiful hallway bench but equally could add real character and individuality as a dining table bench. Style and use exactly as you wish.
Dimensions:
98cm Wide, 104cm Max Height (sides), 50cm Maximum Depth
36.5cm Seat Depth, 46.5cm Seat Height
