A stunning waiting room bench from the turn of the early 20th Century, circa 1910-18. It is oak framed with beautiful turned detailing to the legs, skirt, arms and side stretchers. The bentwood seat is punch hole designed from a neo-Gothic pattern, very much reflecting the UK Arts & Crafts movement of the era. We adore the design, colour and natural patina from years of ageing and use. The bench is not too large to accommodate and would look stunning in a hallway, dining area or kitchen. Beautiful as a purely decorative piece but perfectly usable as a bench seat.
Just stunning!

An original early 20th Century settle bench in pine. We stripped the piece of its later brown paint. It was then sanded, made structurally solid and fully repainted. It’s first coat of primer was followed by Farrow & Ball Manor House grey, then Gustavian Blue and finally two top coats of School House White. We then distressed the bench in the natural wear points to bring that fantastic mix of gorgeous colours together. Can seat 3 people very comfortably. A fantastic alternative to chairs at the main dining table or a superb hall bench.
Fresh, gorgeous and full of character!

A stunning waiting room bench from the turn of the early 20th Century, circa 1910-30. It is walnut framed with beautiful turned detailing to the legs and arms. The frame is handmade from solid walnut, which has aged perfectly. The bench does have signs of cosmetic use and wear, as you would expect from seating that is around 100 years old. A stunning settle bench dating from approximately 1790 to 1810. The settle has been expertly hand made in a walnut frame with oak back panel inserts; and walnut marquetry. The quality of the piece is highly evident in the quality of the turning and shaping in the arms and legs. Expertly carved, shaped and rounded by true craftsmen. The walnut has aged beautifully with all of the original patina and wear on the back panels and arms. The bench is heavy and structurally solid to all joints. It is totally original throughout but two of the rear panel inserts have vertical splits (very common from shrinkage in modern centrally heated houses). There is also an old repair to the upper section of the arm. Repaired well and colour blended. For its age it is in very good original antique condition. The seat has been re-upholstered in a complementary dark gold velvet fabric. We adore the age, the colour and original patina of this bench. A superb bench that should be adored and treasured as it gets even better with the years.
