An original 1930’s industrial engineer’s lamp in excellent original condition. Very rare to find these lamps made by Dugdills in such amazing condition. Great colour and patina with a large, three section articulated arm. The lamp has been cleaned and re-wired in a black fabric twisted cord for safety. All sections move to create many options in height, angles, distance form the wall etc. The lamp could be mounted on to a desk or put on to a base to create a large desk/ table lamp. The shade is in perfectly aged and coloured green enamel with the original and very clean white enamel inside. The arm has superb patina and the base has the all important Dugdills stamp for authenticity.
We love the style and the character. If only this lamp could tell you some of it’s stories…..?

An original 1950’s Singer sewing machine now converted in to a hall table with plenty of useful storage. We love the design and original condition of this piece but with the sewing machine inside it had limited use as only a table. We removed the machine and created a hidden storage section where the machine used to sit when folded away. It now has all of the character of an original 1950’s piece but it much more usable as a hall or side table for storing item such as keys, purse, wallet, ipad, gate fobs etc. Never forget where you put your keys again?!
Beautiful oak grain to the top, legs and drawer fronts with original iron base in original paint. Something different and unique for your home.

A beautiful and elegant desk in mahogany, dating from the early 20th Century. It dates from around 1900-1920 and carries very distinctive Edwardian lines, especially in the slim tapered legs and superb original brass handles. It is very well constructed by the now infamous producer Heal & Son, London. We adore the colour and grain on the top of the desk – beautifully aged mahogany at its best. It is in completely original condition, even down to the galleried brass castors at its feet. The desk is veru flexible in its use as a desk, dressing table, hall/ console table, lamp table, bathroom table, etc etc.
We think it is a classic ‘keeper’ of a genuine antique desk that will move rooms and interior decor styles over the years.

A classically lined and chic antique sideboard with lots of style and storage. This sideboard dates from around 1850-70 and is very clearly late Georgian to early Victorian in its design and lines. Unfortunately it came to us with many issues that needed to be repaired and corrected. It still retains some of the signs of its age and use over the last 150 years+, such as the repaired split down the centre of the left hand cupboard door. We wanted to keep the piece as original as we could so filled and sanded and painted some of its scars. It has now been given a whole new lease of life with a full strip and refinish in Farrow & Ball Off Black colourway. The internals have been left as original as possible to show the original age and authenticity of the piece.
The sideboard is a chic and contemporary update to a classic antique. With so much storage and style it is a unique piece ready to be loved by a new owner.
We fully refinished the sideboard in Farrow & Ball Off Black then finished with clear furniture wax for a protective finish.

An original late 19th/ early 20th Century wine cage, dating from around the 1890’s to 1900’s. The cage can hold up to 450 bottles and has a lockable door. The aged colour and overall patina on the ironwork is beautiful. The cage can also be secured to a wall at the back to prevent any risk of it being pulled over. It is in amazing condition for the age.

A beautifully pair of hand carved elephant bookends in hardwood. We estimate the bookends date to the mid century and probably 1950 to early 60’s. The pair are hand carved in heavy hardwood wood with dovetail joints. Superb quality and attention to detail on the carving work but also incredibly well finished and very very tactile. They have a beautiful smooth, warm feel and patination. They are heavy at 500g each elephant (plus its stand). The stands are shaped to the bases bottom edge and the uprights are carved to represent books – spine to on side and pages block to the other.
We think they are perfect. Hand made, quality, vintage and different. Exactly what we love to offer at WHISPER & ECHO.
