Read moreOriginal Victorian Kitchen Larder Cupboard
£0FREE two man ground floor delivery on this item within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Some more remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
An original Victorian larder/ cupboard dating from around the late 19th Century. It is very well made from walnut and pitch pine. All four doors slide to open and close, revealing the completely original pine interior. It is very rare to find cupboards of this age and size that have not been painted over the years. We treated this whole piece in Osmo Oil’s finest oil for interior woodwork and kitchen worktops. This locks in the patina but offers a protective sealant against spills and floor cleaning products etc.
We adore the size, the condition and those beautiful original brass finger pull handles. It could obviously be a kitchen larder or cupboard for crockery, glasses etc. It could however make a super bathroom cabinet for towels and toiletries; amongst many other uses! A beautiful piece that would make a statement in any room.
Dimensions:
211.5cm High, 96.5cm Maximum Width (top and bottom plinths), 44.5cm Max depth (top and bottom plinths). 36cm max internal storage

Read moreTurn of the Century Globe Wernicke ‘Elastic’ Bookcase
£0FREE Delivery on this item within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
An early example of Globe Wernicke’s stacking ‘elastic’ bookcase. Wernicke Co. produced the Elastic bookcase in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the late 19th Century (founded circa 1882) until they were bought by The Globe Files Co. in 1899. Wernicke invented the elastic bookcase and patented the designs.
Once Globe bought Wernicke the famous brand Globe-Wernicke began producing the elastic stack able book cases under patent in the USA. Thomas Turner also started marketing the design in England. Globe-Wernicke then expanded in to Canada, France, Belgium and Austria.
This is an early example dating from circa 1899 to 1910. The carcass is in mahogany with each section retaining the original Globe Wernicke label for authenticity. Each section has the patented up and over scissor system to access the inside. With the added bonus of a drawer at the bottom this bookcase offers a good array of storage without being an overpowering size. The Globe Wernicke bookcases are becoming increasingly sought after and this is a very early one. There are some cosmetic marks but all are photographed and are only visible on close inspection.

£0FREE Ground Floor Delivery on this item within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A very attractive and beautifully coloured single tambour cabinet in Oak, dating from the early 20th Century (c. 1930’s). The cabinet comes with its original pull out haberdashery type shelves and brass label holders, which are just gorgeous and rare to find in these cabinets. All of the trays are easily removable, or height adjustable to accommodate whatever you need to store. We love the colour, size and quality of oak on this cabinet. The size is perfect for the home and could be used as a cabinet for drinks, books, magazines, towels, CD’s etc etc.
The carcass does have a couple of cosmetic ‘dings’ as can be expected with the age of the piece. The door has two old split slats (photographed) and there is no lock or key for the door. The door does close and stay close without the latch/ lock mechanism. Pleas see all photographs for the condition and just ask if you would like any further details or photographs.
These cabinets are incredibly popular and never stay with us for long. They are becoming hard and harder to find!

£0FREE delivery on this item. Post codes far away from us (Cambridgeshire) will incur a charge to send via couriers.
An exceptional 6 drawer Architect/ Plan chest of drawers on original legs, by Abbess. These drawers came to us in a tired old brown stain, peeling away. They are completely original and pretty rare to have their original legs and base still present. We fully stripped away the old brown varnish, sanded the whole carcass, frame, drawers and handles. Then we refinished the piece in a sympathetic aged medium oak stain, with a satin sheen finish. All of the drawers run freely and are clean inside. Two of the drawers retain the Abbess stamp inside.
We think the colour and grain are now superb. The drawers make a fantastic kitchen island or of course artist drawers, drawers for collectors, a TV stand with a difference etc etc. Use them exactly where you need them. Immense storage in stunning style and exceptional condition. These chests are never with us long and we completely understand why.
Please note that the chest does not split for transportation. It comes as one piece so please check all doorways and access points carefully, before purchasing. The drawers can easily be removed to help with moving/ delivering/ siting in the room of your choice.

Read moreVintage Teak Desk with Removable Legs
£0FREE Delivery on this desk within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Some more remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
An original retro style desk in a gorgeously coloured teak. We estimate that it dates form the late 1970’s to mid 1980’s and it came to us from Cambridge University as they were upgrading/ modernising the lecturer’s offices. We love the colour of the teak, the 70’s styling and the fact that the legs can be removed if you have a tight access space, such as narrow doors or a narrow staircase to the attic room etc. With a generous work surface and two drawers this would make a perfect work from home or study desk. Plenty of space for very regular use once fully assembled. It is a well weighted piece and well constructed from teak veneer, solid wooden drawer sides and bottoms, with steel legs.
Such a great Retro 70’s look!
Dimensions:
140cm Wide, 75cm Deep, 71cm High (can be raised via screw out levelling feet)
Please let us know if you would like this delivered with the legs still attached or removed.

An early 20th Century settle bench with under seat storage. Made in pine it is so stylish but very practical too. Can seat 3 people very comfortably. A fantastic alternative to chairs at the main dining table or a superb hall bench. The storage underneath also offers a real benefit to store shoes, cushions, blankets, dog leads, coats etc.
The bench has been painted relatively recently in a white Eggshell finish (semi sheen). The natural wear edges have also been slightly distressed to give the piece character and a nod to its antique heritage. A very stylish and very practical bench. These are certainly getting harder to find.
