A gorgeous original hand made Victorian glass display dome. These domes were generally used for taxidermy displays but are now very popular for displaying a whole array of treasured items, plants etc. The glass is beautifully hand crafted with perfectly imperfect signs of the skilled hand production eg small bubbles. This glass ‘dome’ is oval shape based as can be seen from the shape formed on the base. The base is made of wood but is a later production. It is finished in a satin black colour.
These glass cases are incredibly popular and highly sought after. Particularly as many obviously get broken over the decades.

A very pretty and versatile solid oak vintage cupboard. This could be a great hall cupboard for shoes and magazines, a bathroom cupboard for towels and toiletries, a bedroom piece etc etc. Use it in which ever room you need. It has been fully stripped and hand finished in Farrow & Ball’s Brassica colour with a protective clear wax finish for resilience against spills and wear. With a bottom cupboard section and two drawers it offer lots of really useful storage space.
‘Brassica’s rich lavender tones feel charming in light areas, but become much more sophisticated and grey in darker areas due to an underlying hint of black. Named after the group of plants which includes purple sprouting broccoli, this warm shade lifts cold feeling rooms without being overtly red. It is often combined with Elephant’s Breath and Skimming Stone for a rich, contemporary feel.’ – Farrow & Ball

An excellent example of an original stacking bookcase in oak. Produced around the late 1920’s to mid 1930’s by Gunn, this is a really clean and completely original example. It is in perfectly aged and coloured quarter drawn oak – showing the high quality oak grain. It retains the original Gunn makers label stamped in to the bottom of the bookcase sections. This four-section stacking bookcase has a beautiful carved frieze to the top section and all of its original pull handles. All sections have opening doors on ball catches. Each section can be separated for easy transportation and assembly. We also have a smaller and deeper version of this amazing bookcases available.
The Gunn Furniture Company originated in Grand Rapids Michigan. Founded by William S Gunn, a furniture workshop was added to his hardware products in 1874. The company passed to his son, William A Gunn after his death in 1909. It became famous for desks and in the 1910s and 20s, the company began to produce sectional bookcases.
It can easily be accommodated in to living, dining or bedroom styling. Fantastic and highly desirable, with clean lines that offers incredible value for money.

A very stylish astragal glazed drinks cabinet. The piece dates from around the 1930’s and is presented in a beautiful design and colour. The glass in the doors is all original and glazed piece by piece. The cabinet sits on elegant Queen Anne style legs. The walnut colouring is rich and warm; not too dark or heavy.
We re-finished the back and shelves in Farrow & Ball Wevet eggshell. This gave the piece a contemporary facelift to bring it bang on trend for 2022. What a perfectly gorgeous gin / drinks cabinet?

A simply stunning and rare drinks cabinet/ bookcase dating from the 1960’s of Alfred Cox design. The cabinet was designed by Alfred Cox, produced by hand and mainly sold by Heal’s of London. It is finished in a beautiful walnut grain with all original glass doors and shelves. The piece has a really good weight, reflecting the quality of materials used and the hand made quality of construction. Please see photographs for close ups of condition. The cabinet is in excellent original condition and quite exceptional for its age.
The original Alfred Cox (AC) labels are present and fully in tact on the inside of the right hand bottom door, to prove its authenticity.

This piece dates to the later part of the 19th Century, Victorian era. It was handmade in mahogany with a very nice weight and some beautiful book matched drawer fronts. All of the handles are the original quality glass handles, free form chips and are beautifully designed. Originally the top would have been used for a water bowl and jug for washing. Now these wash stand are used as bedroom drawers, bathroom, hallways etc. We fully stripped the whole frame and refinished it in Farrow & Ball Railings. A clear coat of Annie Sloan chalk paint wax has also been applied, to seal against water and spills.
We think it now offers a classic and chic piece with plenty of options for use.

An excellent example of the incredibly popular and highly sought after Ladderax system by Staples. These were produced in the 1950’s to 70’s in modular form. You bought as many uprights as you needed to form the number of bays that you required. You then bought the units and shelves that fitted in to the bays. This one dates to the late 1960’s/ early 1970’s and has the much rarer teak wood uprights, rather than metal. The piece is in excellent vintage condition and has the added benefit of the bureau / secretaire section. This allows the drop down door to be used as a writing surface or occasional work top for laptop, tablets etc. The section has its original working lock and key should you need to secure the contents safely.
The piece easily disassembles for transportation.

A stunning design by Alfred Cox from the late 1960’s. The credenza, or sideboard has the quality hand craftsmanship expected by this high quality producer. Alfred Cox pieces were sold in high quality retailers, including Heals of London. The piece is long and heavy, reflective of the quality of Australian Walnut wood used. The main cabinetry is made of beautifully grained walnut, complemented by teak and beech to the handles and lower frame/ legs. All of the drawers and internal sections of the piece are clean and run freely. There is one light sub surface scratch to the top. Difficult to see unless very close but please see photograph.
With two cupboard areas and 4 drawers there is a vast array of storage space available. It could be used as a TV stand and media unit, drinks cabinet and books etc etc. Amazing mid century styling in a beautiful finish by a very well regarded name. It’s got it all.
