A superb late Georgian mule chest in oak. This beautiful chest dates to around 1800 -1830. It would have been used to store blankets, candles, matches etc originally. The internals of the chest are amazing. Lots of storage via trays, drawers and compartments to be used, or admired. The chest has a beautiful rich oak colour and patina – very warm and gorgeous. The brass handles are superb too. It is extremely rare to find these chest with their original working locks and key – but this one has them both! It can be used in so many ways now, as a coffee table, lamp/ side table, TV Stand, toy box, blanket box, log and kindling store etc etc. It is very clean inside and also has the additional benefit of two lower drawers (remote controls?!)
Original, beautiful, very hard to find and a real treasure.
