This is an exceptional 19th Century church/ chapel pew. It is hand crafted from antique pitch pine, in a thickness we have not seen surpassed. It is completely original, very solid and heavy (approx. 75kgs!) It retains its original kneeling board that folds up, or can be removed. The pew has not been messed around with in anyway, like a lot of pews that have been cut down, new ends added etc. We have three pews available. We have two pews available at 256cm wide and one at 220cm wide (see other listing).
We love the design, and quality of wood, making it stand out from the masses of pews available. The bench lends itself to being very flexible on how it can be styled and used in your home. It would make a beautiful hallway bench but equally could add real character and individuality as a dining table bench. Style and use exactly as you wish.

£0An original Ritter (of Germany) Dental cabinet dating from around 1910-20. This was in a sorry state when it came to us but has now been fully refurbished. Standing on the original marble plinth with all original glass, shelves and handles. Unfortunately some of the glassware to the drawer handles did not survive the 100+ years. We decide to leave the bases on the drawers as they are still the original bases.
The piece has been finished in Farrow & Ball’s Green Smoke; which we think just complements the overall aesthetics perfectly.
We are unashamedly in love with this cabinet and it has lit up many eyes from the people that have seen the piece in the flesh. Stunning!
Very rare and we have not seen another one like it anywhere…..

A superb example of Globe Wernicke’s stacking ‘elastic’ bookcase. This is in the more rare and better quality oak veneer and radial cut oak, rather than the more common mahogany veneer ones. All glass and brass ware are original, together with the internal iron works for the ‘up and over’ scissor door lifts system. Pretty rare to see this on the Globe Wernicke’s.
Wernicke Co. produced the Elastic bookcase in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the late 19th Century (founded circa 1882) until they were bought by The Globe Files Co. in 1899. Wernicke invented the elastic bookcase and patented the designs.
Once Globe bought Wernicke the famous brand Globe-Wernicke began producing the elastic stack able book cases under patent in the USA. Thomas Turner also started marketing the design in England. Globe-Wernicke then expanded in to Canada, France, Belgium and Austria.

It now offers a beautiful seat that would style up any hallway, boot room, utility room etc. All joints are solid and the bench is now fully cleaned and ready to place wherever you need it.
