This is a beautiful example of a Barrister’s style bookcase in English oak. It dates from around the early 1930’s and offers lots of fantastic storage. The three upper sections are graduated in size to accommodate larger books in the bottom section, to smaller books in the upper sections. Heights and dimensions are listed below. All three upper sections retain their up and over door opening mechanisms, the original glass and very pretty original brass handles. The lower section is a very generous cupboard in both height and depth. Again with original brass handles. Inside there is one shelf that is fully height adjustable via its original brass support system. Simply remove the brass supports and put them in to higher or lower slots in the channels at the side.
This bookcase has all of the quality and trademark handles of Minty (of Oxfordshire) but we can not find a makers’ badge, that has been present on other Minty bookcases that we have sold.
