An exceptional mid century oak desk handmade by Astrola of London (Hammersmith, W6). It dates from around the late 1940’s to early 1950’s and is in completely original condition but fully cleaned and gently restored by us. It presents itself in a beautifully aged honey colour and patina with a really nicely sized work surface for home use. All five drawers un freely and have been cleaned and sanded back internally. The desk also has the unusual added benefit of a cupboard to the bottom of the right hand pedestal. The quality of the handmade desk shows in the panel work to all sides, the back and even the internal sides of the kneehole. The desk also retains its original green top in very good condition and the original makers badge on the rear.
The build and quality will mean this desks can only appreciate in value if looked after well.

An original 1970’s Retro desk in teak veneer and steel frame. It dates from around the mid to late 1970’s and is in a very nice original condition. It is a great colour and very minimalist in design but offering a great every day use desk with some serious retro style. This would make an ideal regular use working from home desk at a real value price.

A simply stunning solid oak desk handmade by Astrola of London (Hammersmith, W6). It dates from around the late 1940’s to late 1950’s and is in completely original condition but fully cleaned and gently restored by us. We adore the pull out trays with original brass label holders and the tambour door that can close over them (but we would leave them on full show).
Beautifully coloured and aged oak throughout, with through dovetails joints to the pull out drawers and dovetails on the three pedestal drawers. The tambour door works smoothly, as do all drawers and the pull out top shelf to the right pedestal.
A beautiful and rare desk that can be used as a decorative/ dress piece or as a fully functioning desk space.
The build and quality will mean these desks can only appreciate in value if looked after well.

A very stylish and solid mid century teachers desk handmade in oak. It dates from around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s and is in completely original condition but fully cleaned and gently restored by us. It presents itself in a beautiful coloured oak with superb original patina and a really generous work surface for home use. With six free running drawers there is also a huge amount of very useful storage space. The bottom right hand drawer is a double height deep filing type drawer for extra storage, complete with its original wooden dividers.
English oak with quality dovetails joints to all drawers with original wooden drawer runners. The drawer internals are also very clean. The beautiful brass handles have aged perfectly too.
The build and quality will mean these desks can only appreciate in value if looked after well.
Please note this is a large desk but it does disassemble should you need it to for delivery and siting in to the room of your choice. It splits down to two pedestals, the top and three cross fitting spars. Please let us know if you would like the desk to be delivered fully assembled or disassembled. A very stylish and solid mid century teachers desk handmade in oak. This desk is unusual in that the four legs are easily removable via four wingnuts on the underside of the desk. This gives it a very useful advantage of being able to pass through tight access areas to get the desk easily in to the room of your choice. The drawers are very clean and run freely. Later brass handles have been added but are of good quality brass. The top is a very rich colour and is completely original but there are some indentations from previous use, that are photographed. Please examine all photos closely and just ask if you need anything else clarifying.
A beautiful, stylish desk without the dramas of being able to get it delivered to your space.
