The copper gallery and chain are also in amazing original condition and are completely original to the shade. It is very rare to find lights of this age in such stunning original condition. A rare and amazing find that will get so many admirers when hung in your home. The light will be fully re-wired in a twisted fabric three core cable – the colour that you choose. An original early 20th Century inspection lamp in super original condition. Very rare to find these lamps in such amazing condition. Most of the cages have been battered, rusted, misshaped etc. We rewired and earthed the lamp with a new antique brass lamp holder and black braided electrical cord. The handle is in its original wood with just some gentle wear. The cage has great patina.
The lamp can be sat on a desk, table, shelf etc. It can also be suspended from its cord. Either way it offers some unique and atmospheric lighting. The bulb required is a standard UK bayonet (BC) fitting with a whole array of colours and wattage to achieve the exact light you are looking for.
We love the style and the character. If only this lamp could tell you some of it’s stories…..?

An original pair of rare Smith-Victor photography lamps. These lamps dates form around the 1950’s to 1960’s and were produced in the USA by world renowned manufacturers Smith-Victor. We took the shades and stands and gave them new swivel and tilt adjustable heads. We then added a vintage style lamp holder with switch on the holder gave them a full re-wire with a complementary grey fabric retro style cable (a full 3 metres for each lamp). These updates all match the mid Century style of the lamps but brings them bang up to date.
The shades can be positioned to up-light or tilt and the height of the lamps can be adjusted from a height of 123cm, right up to 210cm! Simply plug in and add very stylish lighting to any room. They can be used as a pair, either side of a sofa or feature wall or headboard etc. Or obviously they can be split up and used in different rooms but we wanted to keep them as a pair for the lucky new owner to decide how they would use them!
There are some signs of wear and a few ‘dings’ to the shades but they are still spherical with exceptional paintwork and original labels still fully in tact. The stands are in excellent condition with only aged patina that we wanted to keep rather than fully polish to look like new. We adore the overall look and uniqueness of what we have created!
