A very clean set of three vintage filing drawers. The cabinet dates from around the late 1970’s to mid 1980’s. It is presented in oak and oak veneer with pine drawer internals. The brass handles and label holders are original and ageing very nicely. Each drawer has the side sliding rails already fitted for A4 suspension files. The cabinet also has a working lock and two keys. Very nice design and colour with a not too large size for home or study use. We love the overall look of these drawers and they will age perfectly if looked after well.

Produced by Howdens in the 1960’s the drawers are in a superb colour and condition, with all original handles and label holders. The condition is exceptional for the age of the cabinet with no dents, major scratches, rust etc; which are all very common on these old filing cabinets. It is the perfect size for home or office with all drawers ready for new A4 suspension files that fit on the drawer sides as sliding rails. The cabinet and drawers have all been fully cleaned and the runners re-oiled. Superb condition for its age with plenty of industrial design and character. A unusual set of original mid century steel filing drawers in a very attractive grey colour with slight blue undertones. We have not seen this colour before , nor the gold handles and label holders. The colour combination really works and will blend very well with a vast range of colour schemes. All four drawers have their original side rails for suspension file hanging. The cabinet also comes with working lock and key to be able to lock all four drawers.
The cabinet and drawers have all been fully cleaned. Lovely condition for its age with plenty of industrial design and character. Industrial style and practicality all rolled in to one.

A very stylish and solid mid century teachers desk handmade in oak. It dates from around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s and is in completely original condition but fully cleaned and gently restored by us. It presents itself in a beautiful honey coloured oak with superb original patina and a really generous work surface for home use. With eight free running drawers there is also a huge amount of very useful storage space. The bottom right hand drawer is a double height deep filing type drawer for extra storage.
English oak with quality dovetails joints to all drawers with original wooden drawer runners. The drawer internals are also very clean.
The build and quality will mean these desks can only appreciate in value if looked after well.
Please note this is a large desk and does not disassemble without having to re-fix and glue later. Therefore you should double check all measurements to ensure it will pass through doors, turn corners, stairs etc to get to the room of your choice.

A great set of original vintage (c 1960-65) steel filing drawers by Art Metal (London, SW1). Most of these cabinets are by Roneo. Art Metal cabinets are much harder to find; especially in this condition with this finish. This set has the advantage of still having its original side rails for hanging suspension files. They are very rare to find in unscratched condition. The lock is present but there is no key present and the lock has been disabled, to prevent accidental locking of the drawers.
A very nice size for home or office. The cabinet and drawers have all been fully cleaned and the runners re-oiled. Plenty of mid Century industrial design and character. Industrial style and practicality all rolled in to one.

A pretty rare early 20th Century steel filing cabinet by Milners (later to become Harvey Milner). With the superb heavy handles we estimate that it dates to around the early to mid 1950’s. The filing cabinet, handles and label holders are all original and present. Three of the drawers have their original suspension file cages and the bottom drawer has a sliding stay. Very good original condition for its age and much rarer than most of the vintage filing cabinets made by Roneo, Stor and Art Metal. Milner distinguished their industrial steel furniture by their quality and weight – often seen as the Rolls Royce of filing cabinets at their peak. For this reason Milner seem to have a dedicated following to match other pieces of their steel furniture such as desks, tall cabinets etc.
Industrial style and practicality all rolled in to one. Cabinets of this age by Milner are rarely seen. An industrial style investment!

A great set of original early 20th century (c 1920-40) steel filing drawers by Art Metal (London, SW1). Most of these cabinets are by Roneo. Art Metal cabinets are much harder to find; especially in this condition with this finish. This cabinet is unusual in that it is an old example. Most are 1940-60’s but this one is stamped ot the side with the patent of 1918. Great colour and original condition, with perfectly aged original handles. They are very rare to find in unscratched condition.
