A superb mid century steel desk presented in exceptional condition. So many of these desks are in poor condition with dents, scratches, rust etc. No surprise given their industrial use over the last 60 years or more? This one is in a fully stripped and satin polished finish. It has been stripped and polished to a vey high standard. With very clean, free running drawers and its original top. The desk is in superb condition with only small cosmetic marks to the top. It was manufactured by Strong Steel in the 1950’s to early 1960’s and now makes a super desk for a tighter space or a teenager’s study desk?
These mid Century industrial desks are very highly sought after. With the condition and size of this desk it is perfect for the home. All of the fantastic industrial design and style in a perfectly compact package.
We love the overall look, and refinished condition. Mid Century industrial styling at the top of its game!

An excellent example of the ever popular Abbess desk in Oak. These are often referred to as Teacher’s desks. This one dates from around 1950 and is a superb rich honey oak colour and size. Two drawers to the pedestals offering lost of really useful storage, with the bottom drawer being a double height filing type drawer. An additional kneehole desk gives plenty of storage across the three free running desks. This desk also has its original screw out brass feet to level the desk for uneven floors or give an extra 2cm of height, if required. The Abbess label is still present to the fornt of the desk and stamped inside of the central drawer for provenance.
We fully cleaned and restored this one to its former glory. Please check all photographs for the condition. A beautiful rich aged oak colour and patina that will just age perfectly. The size is perfect if you have smaller space or want to create a work space, rather than a dedicated study or home office room.
We have sold a number of these Abbess desks and they never hang around for long.

A super cute Child’s size desk in solid oak. It dates from around the turn of the 19th/ 20th Century through to the late teens. With smaller proportions it would suit a child or alternatively make a great hall table. It is presented in a beautifully rich aged oak colour. With a lockable cupboard and two drawers it is perfectly functioning as a desk or as a hall table too. Somewhere to safely store keys, tablets etc.
