A superb example of mid century industrial design. This gorgeous green steel desk was produced by Roneo (later to become Roneo Vickers). It dates to the 1960’s and is a very rare example in this condition. It is in completely original green paintwork and is exceptional for the age of the piece and its industrial/ utilitarian heritage. The desk has three very useful drawers, original handles and even the original makers badge on the front of the pedestal. Most desks of this age and style have dents and rusting. The top of this desk is also exceptional when you consider their heavy use over the years and age. There are indentations on the desk and we have taken photos to show the overall condition. These mid Century industrial desks are very highly sought after. With the condition and size of this desk it is perfect for the home with plenty of work surface for very regular unrestricted use.

A superb example of mid century industrial design. This is a gorgeous compact steel desk by Harvey (Milner). It would date to circa late 1950’s to 1960’s and is a very rare example being produced by the Harvey Milner Company. It is in completely original condition and is exceptional for the age of the piece and its industrial/ utilitarian heritage. The desk has the cutest little drawers and cupboard, original handles and the makers badge on the front. Most desks of this age and style have dents and rusting. The top of this desk is also exceptional when you consider their heavy use over the years and age. This top is as good as we have seen on desk of this style and age.
These mid Century industrial desks are very highly sought after. With the condition and size of this desk it is perfect for a smaller space, a child/ teens bedroom or even a great looking hall or console table. Hide all that mail in the drawers!

An excellent example of a mid Century desk in solid teak, not veneer. These are often referred to as Teacher’s desks. This one dates from around the 1950’s and is in lovely clean condition. Three drawers to the pedestals offering lost of really useful storage, complete with gorgeous original handles. All three drawers run freely and are very clean inside. A really good old schoolmaster / mistress desk. This came out of a school in Holmfirth in West Yorkshire. It dates from around the 1960’s. The desk offers lots of storage with 7 drawers and the centre kneehole drawer retains its original working lock and one key. The desk has been well used and well loved and carries the cosmetic wear and tear you would expect for a desk of this age form a school. It is however, structurally very sound with all joints firm. The top is also original and in super condition for its age with only one sign of heavy wear to comment on (please see photograph). We love the rich colour of this, together with the well used and tarnished handles and its original deep green top.
A super stylish old school desk and a really good desk for home or work.

An excellent example of the ever popular Abbess desk in Oak. These are often referred to as Teacher’s desks. This one dates from around 1950 and is a superb rich colour and size. Two drawers to the pedestals offering lost of really useful storage, with the bottom drawer being a double height filing type drawer. This style also offers a really useful centre kneehole drawer for even more storage. There is one scratch on the desktop and one chip to one of the handles. Please check all photographs for the condition. Apart from the two cosmetic issues the desk is in very good original condition. A beautiful rich aged oak colour and patina that will just age perfectly.

Only a couple of faint marks to the top work surface (please see all photographs). A very attractive and stylish double pedestal desk dating from the 1970’s. This desk was handmade by a carpenter in Newcastle for his daughter to study for her A Levels. He made it in his shed at the bottom of the garden. She was the first member of his family that stood a chance of going to University!
This style of desk is often referred to as teachers desks but this one was definitely a study desk. We love the story, the handmade imperfections and the aged colour and patina of it. It is now available for somebody else to love and use.

A very cute and stylish single pedestal teachers desk dating from the 1960’s. It is made from oak with a great colour. Four free running desk and a pull out shelf make this a completely functioning and practical desk for a smaller space. A residual water mark on the top is too deeply ingrained in the oak to remove without spoiling the surface finish. It is purely cosmetic but does make this super cute desk a real style bargain.
These teachers desks nver hang around for long due to their great style, usability and value.
