An exceptional and beautiful 6 drawer Architect/ Plan chest of drawers in oak. The drawers are presented in superb order and date to around the mid 1960’s. It came to us from a retired Architect in Eastbourne. He owned the chest from new. The chest does split in to three sections for ease of transportation and siting (two sections of three drawers, plus the base) All of the drawers run freely and are free from any chips or the usual marks. Two drawer fronts show signs of an old repair but blended vey well and not noticeable without close inspection (please see photographs). These chest are becoming very highly sought after and are rarely available in such beautiful condition. This set is a real treasure to look after and adore.
We adore the design, colour and size of the chest. A very rare find in this condition.

£0FREE Shipping on this item within 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A beautifully designed tallboy chest of five drawers. This piece was designed by Alfred Cox and hand made in the Alfred Cox furniture factory for sale via Heals of London. They have beautiful quarter drawn walnut grain, reflective of the quality of timber used. We adore the grain, the lines and particularly the legs and base. The drawers are all free running and have very clean internals. They are gradated in depth from top to bottom and retain all of their original bespoke tuned handles, from solid walnut. There is one small ‘ding’ to the top edge of the 3rd drawer – approximately 4mm in width. Hardly noticeable but we have to mention it for honesty of condition.
These Alfred Cox pieces are rapidly becoming a 60’s design classic and can only increase in value if looked after well. We have another set of these tallboy drawers and two different styles of console tables/ dressing tables/ TV stands available too. All beautiful and all by Alfred Cox of the same design and period – should you want a matching suite.

A 1960’s chest of drawers by Lebus that we fully stripped and refinished in Little Greene Paint Company’s Tea with Florence Eggshell finish. The Eggshell finish gives a slight sheen but not shiny, with good resilience to wear and accidental spills. We love the finished effect. £0FREE Ground Floor delivery on this item. Post codes far away from us (Cambridgeshire) will incur a surcharge to send via couriers.
A very stylish 1950’s sideboard in golden oak, produced by Beautility. Beautility Furniture was founded in 1896 in Shoreditch London. They even made parts for the DeHavilland Mosquito during World War II. The company existed until 1957 when the two remaining sons finally retired.
This piece is of very solid construction with a very good weight – reflective of the quality of materials used. It is in very good original condition with only very small cosmetic marks, as would be expected. There is the tiniest of a chip to one edge of a glass door. Probably 2mm but we always prefer to highlight any ‘damage’. Both glass doors are original and slide exactly as they were designed to do. The doors and drawers all run freely. Superb mid century style with quality materials and a fantastic look.
So much flexible storage!
