An original chest of generously proportioned and well made Victorian drawers in mahogany. The drawers date from around 1880-1900 and are presented in a two over three graduated configuration. The bottom drawer being a very deep blanket type drawer that pulls out the bottom skirt along with the drawer front. The chest comes complete with all handles fully in tact and sits on its original bun feet. All five drawers are dovetail jointed, exceptionally clean inside and run as they should. Drawer liners could be used if you prefer.
We love the beautifully coloured wood, the handles and the practicality of those gorgeously deep drawers. Antique chic!
Please note the drawers are over 150 years old and they will have cosmetic marks to the front and some signs of wear. Eg two drawer locks are missing, a veneer bubble on the bottom drawer above the handle. Please see all photographs for the true condition and just ask if you need more detailed photos.

An original Georgian chest of drawers in amazing mahogany grain and colour. The drawers date from around 1850-70 and are presented in a secretaire/ bureau over three graduated drawers configuration. The top section has a drop drown faux drawer front to reveal the desk top, internal drawers and cupboard. Below are three free running graduated drawers, all in completely original condition. One handle as a missing section at the rear (approximately one third, as photographed) all other handles are original and complete. The chest has a very good weight to it, reflective of the quality of timber used and the quality hand made craftsmanship.
We love the beautifully coloured wood, the incredible book matched grain work and the overall condition. Just beautiful!

A beautiful chest of mid Victorian drawers dating from around the 1860’s. They are presented in a beautifully aged flame mahogany finish and are in original condition throughout. The drawers are configured in a graduated set of four drawers with all original handles in exceptional condition. All drawers have a working lock and one key that fits all drawers. All drawers are very well made with pin dovetail joints to the sides and are solid in construction. The drawer internals are exceptionally clean and the whole chest is completely solid and free form any wobbles or loose joints. There a re a few areas where small sections of veneer are missing. Perfectly normal for a piece of this age. Please see all photographs and just ask if you would like further photographs or have any questions over the condition. The style is classically Victorian but the size is perfect – offering lots of deep storage but in a chest not too over poweringly large. They are classically designed and will blend with many interior styles and colour schemes.
This chest will look perfect in almost any room you choose. It’s a real keeper!

A beautiful heavy chest of drawers dating from around the 1910’s to 1920’s. They came all the way from Cape Town in South Africa, having been owned by three generations of the same family since they were new. They are presented in a beautifully aged hardwood finish and are in original condition throughout. The drawers are configured in a set of eight free running drawers of various sizes and depths, complete with working locks and a key to all drawers. All drawers are very well made with dovetail joints to the sides and are solid in construction. The drawer internals are very clean and the whole chest is completely solid and free from any wobbles or loose joints. The condition is very good for the age with no deep scratches or ‘damage’ just some minimal wear to the top surface – purely cosmetic. The drawers are configured in a graduated set of five free running drawers with all original handles in exceptional condition. The majority of the mother of pearl escutcheons are also still in tact. All drawers are very well made with dovetail joints to the sides and are solid in construction. The drawer internals are very clean and the whole chest is completely solid and free form any wobbles or loose joints. The top shows an old crack repair which has been done well and colour blended very well. There are also residual marks to the top from all of the years of use. Perfectly normal for a piece of this age. Not deep scratches or ‘damage’ but cosmetic wear.
