This gym/ changing bench and hooks dates to around the mid to late 1970’s and came to us straight from a factory in West Yorkshire. It is in amazing condition for its age. Constructed from steel box section and solid teak throughout it has really good solid weight and looks fantastic. It is in completely original condition. We just gave it a good clean, and teak oiled the wood for replenishment and refresh.
This piece has all the superb old school styling you could want and a really good size. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement.
We have two of these available and two benches with hooks above. Colours may vary slightly due to natural wood colouring.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1940’s to early 1950’s. It is a heavy solid piece being topped in 30mm thick iroko hardwood and having 18 shoe baskets. The bench is also a nice deep one at 31cm. SO much storage!
This bench is in super original condition both in the solid wood top and the perfectly aged galvanised steel baskets. We cleaned, sanded and refinished the bench top in a clear stain varnish as it was very tired and dirty. Most of these style of benches get bent or broken over the years but this one is in a lovely aged condition. We fully cleaned the piece. It has all the original style and character but ready for another 60+ years of use.
These are very popular benches and we are finding it harder and harder to get them like this. Every time we manage to find one it flies out to another very happy customer. This one is unlike most due to being bigger and having lots more baskets.
A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1940’s. It came from a school in Tring, Hertfordshire where it had been since new. Recovered by a local teacher when the school wanted to throw it away. It is vey nicely aged with superb patina to the galvanised steel baskets.
The bench slats are also a vey nicely aged colour. The rear slat has a couple of semi circles cut out where the bench obviously fitted up against water pipes. Not really noticeable but we like to point these things out. You can see them in the photographs. We fully cleaned the piece. It has all the original style and character but ready for another 60+ years of use.

These gym bench date to around the mid to late 1980’s and came to us straight from a military cadet school. A really good size in both length and depth means the shoe tray can comfortably fit adult size shoes, as well as children’s/ teens. Steel legs and tray with a good solid beech slatted top means the bench has a nice solid weight and feel to it – not like modern reproductions. These benches already look great but just age up even better.
The benches have all the superb old school styling you could want and a really good size. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement. We have 9 available in this size.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s. It is a very rare find being produced by ESA. Esavian – ESA – was the brand name for the Education Supply Association Ltd. They produced a lot of Post War school and industrial mid century furniture. Most people know the furniture from school as a lot of it was produced in the 1950s and 60s. James Leonard designed a lot of the ESA beech and ply furniture.
This bench is in super original condition both in the beech framework and the really true and square shoes baskets. An original school changing/ gym bench dating from the early 1960’s. They came direct from an International School in Glamorgan, Wales. Superb Retro/ Old school styling for your home. We have six available should you want to use them as dining benches or café/ restaurant benches. Each bench has a very nice weight to reflect the quality of construction. In very good condition structurally they have a perfectly aged colour and patina to both the seat tops and the metal frames. They are designed to stack neatly on top of each other should you need to store away. Each bench is large enough to comfortable seat 4 people.
We think they can now sit perfectly in so many settings – be it a hall bench, dining bench, café or restaurant.
Very cool and practical styling at a fantastic price. Only 1 of the 6 benches left!
