A stunning trio of early 20th Century wrought iron trestles. The design of these trestles is exceptional, having double thickness up rights and feet with stud riveting. This extra detail and strength sets them apart from the more common single round shaft trestles. This style of trestles are very hard to find. They were originally used by blacksmiths as they bare the extra weight of iron and steel. To find three matching in this condition is truly quite exceptional. We ensured all three were stripped of (much later) paint. The trestles were then wire brushed, burnished, oiled and finally a light layer of clear wax to prevent oxidisation and rusting.
These trestles are commonly used as table legs by simply adding the table size and material of your choice. All of the original ironwork and shape are in tact, along with the beautiful antique patina. Three trestles would support a table up to around 3 meters in length. A real statement piece?!
The style of this trio is also very rare and is of a very high standard of finish. Add the top of your choice for a completely bespoke table or desk.

A stunning pair of early 2oth Century Iron trestles in original and very old paint. Very hard to find in good condition at reasonable price. We normally strip these trestles when they are just splattered with odd colours of paint or have been painted more recently. When they look this good in 100 year old paint though – we just have to leave them exactly as we found (and love) them!
These trestles are used as table legs by simply adding the table size and material of your choice. Photo 4 shows and example of a zinc top addition (Photo 4 Credit: Monkey & Bird). All of the original ironwork and shape are in tact, along with the beautiful antique patina.
