£0FREE Delivery on this item within 10 working days. Some further afield and rural areas will incur a charge.
An original set of early 20th Century Art Deco drawers. The drawers date from around 1920-30 and have some superb clean and crisp lines. They are well constructed from solid wood and all drawers are very clean inside (please see photographs). The design is very much Art Deco inspired, as can be seen on the escutcheon and handle design, drawer fronts and the chamfered edges and corners. All three drawers are very clean and easy to open. We fully stripped the chest and refinished it in Farrow & Ball Off Black with a clear wax coat for protection against knocks and spills etc.
We love the colour and the fully finished effect. Transformed from dowdy ‘brown’ to a contemporary classic that will adapt and fit with a plethora of interior styles. The storage is cute, chic and super stylish. This chest of drawers could be used in practically any room you needed them.

£0FREE shipping on this item. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A beautiful heavy chest of drawers dating from around the 1910’s to 1920’s. They came all the way from Cape Town in South Africa, having been owned by three generations of the same family since they were new. They are presented in a beautifully aged hardwood finish and are in original condition throughout. The drawers are configured in a set of eight free running drawers of various sizes and depths, complete with working locks and a key to all drawers. All drawers are very well made with dovetail joints to the sides and are solid in construction. The drawer internals are very clean and the whole chest is completely solid and free from any wobbles or loose joints. The condition is very good for the age with no deep scratches or ‘damage’ just some minimal wear to the top surface – purely cosmetic. Please see all photographs and just ask if you would like further photographs or have any questions over the condition.

£0FREE Shipping on this item. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A beautiful chest of Art Deco drawers dating from around the late 1920’s to early 1930’s. They are presented in a beautifully aged walnut with very unusual and pretty handles. The drawers are configured in a two over two formation offering lots of beautiful storage in four free running drawers. We believe the top would have had upstands or a small gallery fitted as there are two old marks on the top (see photographs) where some fittings would have been attached. These marks are blended very well now and are approximately 3cm long for a gauge. They detract in no way from this beautiful chest of drawers. The chest rests on solid walnut tapered legs and original brass and ceramic castor feet. Gorgeous.
This chest will look perfect in almost any room you choose. It’s a real keeper!

Read moreX Aesthetic Movement Chest of Drawers in Walnut c1880-90
£0FREE Shipping on this item. More remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A superb example of a two of two chest of drawers in Walnut. The chest dates from around 1880-90 and is a subtle but high quality example of the aesthetic movement influence in the UK around that time. The detailed inlays around the edges of the drawers are characteristic of the Aesthetic influence, yet are not too elaborate, and therefore timelessly styled. The whole chest is constructed of solid walnut with oak sides and bottoms to the drawer internals. The handles have been replaced at some point but they have been replaced with good quality, design and weight original brass ones, from the same period – and are very much in-keeping with the chest and overall design.
The weight of the piece and quality of carpentry show the quality the chest offers. Having four nice deep and free running drawers it is also a very usable everyday antique. Stylish, decorative but also practical.
