£0FREE Delivery on this piece within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A very stylish mid century teak desk by Carson’s Office Furniture of the UK. It dates from around the mid to late 1960’s and is in beautiful original condition but fully cleaned and gently restored on the top work surface by us. This desk came to us from a private owner in Lincolnshire, where it had spent its whole life from new. It is presented in a beautifully aged colour and patina with a really nicely sized work surface for home use. The drawers run freely and have been cleaned and sanded back internally. The bottom right hand drawer is a double height filing drawer with original suspension file rails still present. There are two pull out shelves to the top of both pedestals – one just a shelf, the other containing the original plastic stationery tray. There are a few very minor veneer ‘nibbles’ to the bottom side panels. Please see photographs for size and condition. All very small (circa 2-6mm).
A super looking desk, very useable for regular working but not too deep for most people to be able to accommodate. It is very Scandinavian mid Century in its design and colour. If this was Swedish or Danish it would be three times the price?!
Overall Dimensions: 74cm High, 137cm Wide, 76cm Deep
Kneehole: 64cm height clearance, 55cm wide
Please note: this desk does not disassemble. Double check all of your door openings and access points before purchasing.

£0FREE Ground Floor Delivery on this desk within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Some more remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
We just fell in love with how cute and compact this bureau is. It dates to around the late 1920’s and is hand made from solid oak. The oak has aged and coloured perfectly to give a rich and warm palette. It would be perfect in a smaller hallway to keep things tidy or as an occasional use laptop desk. Originally it would have been used for writing of course. Inside are the cutest little pigeon holes. The front pull down section retains its original lock and key, so that it can be locked should you need it to be. With a drawer and two lower shelves it actually offers an array of uses and storage for its very compact size. We just know this will be perfect for somebody’s space.

£0FREE Ground Floor Delivery on this desk within approximately 150 miles of Cambridgeshire. Some more remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
This desk has an incredible provenance. It came out of the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge University, where the first atom was split in April 1932. John Cockroft and Ernest Walton split the first atom at the Cavendish Laboratory. We have video evidence of the stairs to the laboratory and the office to the right, where this desk was. Clearly we can not say if either of these two pioneering scientists ever used the desk but the age and location fit perfectly.
The desk is beautiful in its own right. Dating from the late teens to early 1930’s it is presented in its original oak. We gave as little restoration to the piece as we could. We simply cleaned the desk, sanded and cleaned the internal drawer liners and also restored the top only. We wanted to keep as much of the desk in its original used condition as possible; whilst also offering a piece ready for a very lucky new owner to cherish. An rare opportunity to own a very special desk.
This size is superb for home/ home office/ study. Not too large but a really useful size work space.
