£0FREE Delivery on this desk. Some more remote and rural areas will incur a charge.
A very different and very stylish mid Century desk in oak. This one dates from the 1960’s and has some beautiful grain work to the oak finish. The desk is in a superb colour and made from solid oak frame work with good quality oak veneer to the top and drawer fronts. It also has its original brass drawer knobs that have aged perfectly in colour. We fully cleaned the desk, lightly sanded back the wood and gave it all a fresh coat of varnish. The size of the desk is perfect for most homes. Not too large to worry about it passing through doorways and stairs etc but large enough to offer a really usable work surface. The three drawers run very freely and are clean internally. There is also a pull out stationary tray to the top of the pedestal, above the drawers. There are two small areas of missing veneer on the inside of the kneehole area at the very bottom. They have been photographed so please check all photos. Just ask if you have any more questions over the condition but the photographs are an accurate representation.

Read moreGeorge V English Oak Desk with Two End Drawers
£0FREE Delivery on this desk. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A beautiful antique desk in solid English oak, dating from the 193o’s. It is stamped to the under side with George V (1910-1936) and the Crown symbol, denoting that it was supplied by the Crown for Military or Civil Service use. These desks typically came from a Government office/ Public Service such as Civil Servant Offices, Schools, Railways etc. This one is unusual in design as it has a drawer at each end/ side of the desk, rather than at the front. This offers two very large drawers for storage. Both drawers are free running with original handles and locks. The top is the original gorgeous green finish, though does carry some cosmetic marks form its past. Nothing that detracts from the desk in any way but we like to point out any issues and also show in the photographs. Now very fresh and ready for regular use.
Presented in a beautiful rich oak. This will only get better with age and appreciate in value. A superb quality antique desk.
Please not that the desk does not disassemble. The top may be removed but would only change the depth by a few centimetres. You should double check that the desk will pass through all doorways and turns before purchasing. Any questions then please just ask us.
