A truly stunning matching pair of Art Nouveau open armchairs in oak. They date form around 1890-1910 and are hand made from superb quality English oak. The carving is exquisite and very typical of the Art Nouveau period in the UK. The proportions are very generous/ oversized making for a stunning statement piece in a hall way, bedroom, landing/ mezzanine etc. We reupholstered the seats in a fabric from Liberty of London. It is from their art range, finished in a soft velvet to touch and completely innkeeping with the Art Nouveau style. We adore these chairs! From the colour and quality of oak, the beautiful hand carvings, the over sized proportions – and that Liberty fabric………….!
All joints are solid and the chairs are free from movement. A true pair of antique gems that will never tire.
