A beautifully presented late 19th Century bookcase in excellent original condition. It dates from around 1870 to 1890. The bookcase is presented in perfectly aged mahogany with all original hand rolled glass and original brassware. The shelves are easily removable and height adjustable in circa 3cm increments. We gently restored the exterior and fully refinished the back panel in Farrow & Ball Wevet. This completely freshened the bookcase up and gave it a much more contemporary backdrop for displaying your items.

Beautiful original paintwork and patina on this industrial table, dating from the mid 20th Century. It’s heavyweight and solid reflecting it’s heritage but offers fantastic style and looks. Can be dressed any way you choose. A great item that seems to draw everyone’s attention (and touch!)

An original early 20th Century English Dresser with glazed doors. Fantastically simple in it’s lines and design but of impressive stature. The dresser will add real presence to a room and offer lots of space for storage and display. The simple lines and colour scheme will allow the piece to blend with many design themes from Traditional to Contemporary. The dresser has been repainted in Farrow and Ball’s Off Black to the exterior and Shaded White internally.
Both the top and bottom sections are lockable with both keys present. The top section is removable for transportation and siting in to the room of your choice.

A superb example of Globe Wernicke’s stacking ‘elastic’ bookcase. This is in the more rare and better quality oak veneer and radial cut oak, rather than the more common mahogany veneer ones. All glass and brass ware are original, together with the internal iron works for the ‘up and over’ scissor door lifts system. Pretty rare to see this on the Globe Wernicke’s.
Wernicke Co. produced the Elastic bookcase in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the late 19th Century (founded circa 1882) until they were bought by The Globe Files Co. in 1899. Wernicke invented the elastic bookcase and patented the designs.
Once Globe bought Wernicke the famous brand Globe-Wernicke began producing the elastic stack able book cases under patent in the USA. Thomas Turner also started marketing the design in England. Globe-Wernicke then expanded in to Canada, France, Belgium and Austria.
