This is an exceptional quality antique swivel piano stool made by the Chas Parker Co (1832-1975). Charles Parker first started making Piano stools, Art Brass, Lamps and guns around 1832 in Meriden, Connecticut, USA. They were world renowned for their quality hand made products and quickly became very highly sought after in the USA. They latterly appeared in both the Texas and Brooklyn Museums for their detailed brass work. This stool is presented in outstanding original condition in solid mahogany, which has aged perfectly to a very warm and rich colour. The turning on the stool is sharp and of the highest quality with fully working swivel and height adjustment. The colour and patina are exactly as you would want. The feet are exceptional too, being cast bronze griffin claws with feather detail to the upper leg portion. The griffin claws grip the original glass ball feet, which the stool rest upon. An all round beautiful antique stool that needs to be admired and treasured. One glass ball has a chip (as photographed).
The stools by Chas Parker are highly collectible in the US and sell for over £300 plus taxes and shipping (if you can find one). Or £600-800 to bring in to the UK (1st Dibs)
