A great set of original early 20th century (c 1920-40) steel filing drawers by Art Metal (London, SW1). Most of these cabinets are by Roneo. Art Metal cabinets are much harder to find; especially in this condition with this finish. This cabinet is unusual in that it is an old example. Most are 1940-60’s but this one is stamped ot the side with the patent of 1918. Great colour and original condition, with perfectly aged original handles. They are very rare to find in unscratched condition.
A very nice size for home or office. The cabinet and drawers have all been fully cleaned and the runners re-oiled. Plenty of early antique industrial design and character. Industrial style and practicality all rolled in to one.

This is an original vintage linen bus blind in a great size and super vintage condition. It came from a Bus in South Yorkshire first used in 1969. We bespoke mounted the blind in an antique white thick card mount and bespoke black wooden frame. With its age, size and condition the piece now offers some fantastic original vintage wall art. There are signs of use on the blind, as clearly this has been in use and rolled around many times but we would consider it in excellent vintage condition for the age. All part of its heritage and authenticity.
Such a different piece of wall art to hang wherever you choose.

A superb example of Globe Wernicke’s stacking ‘elastic’ bookcase. This is in the more rare and better quality oak veneer and radial cut oak, rather than the more common mahogany veneer ones. All glass and brass ware are original, together with the internal iron works for the ‘up and over’ scissor door lifts system. Pretty rare to see this on the Globe Wernicke’s.
Wernicke Co. produced the Elastic bookcase in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the late 19th Century (founded circa 1882) until they were bought by The Globe Files Co. in 1899. Wernicke invented the elastic bookcase and patented the designs.
Once Globe bought Wernicke the famous brand Globe-Wernicke began producing the elastic stack able book cases under patent in the USA. Thomas Turner also started marketing the design in England. Globe-Wernicke then expanded in to Canada, France, Belgium and Austria.

A very cute and stylish desk / table by Abbess. Made from a beautifully rich Walnut and walnut veneer it could be used as a desk, if space is tight, a cute dressing table or hall/ console table. It could equally be a great desk for a child or teen. Made around the late 1960’s to early 1970’s it retains the Abbess label inside the drawer and is stamped to the bottom of the drawer. Superb Retro styling and a great colour. A desk/ table with a difference. There is one very small area of missing/ cracked veneer to the bottom left corner of the drawer. Very small indeed but please see photograph for size.

£0Original mid 20th Century changing room/ gym bench. Beautiful patina to both the original wooden slats forming the seat and the underslung wire baskets. The rear legs required extending as the bench was originally fitted over heating pipes. Other than that the piece is completely original. Original legs are metal with all original paint and patina. The rear extensions have been formed from vintage solid wood before being painted black to match.
We love the style and practicality offered!
