An original hand painted sign dating from around the late 1930’s to early 1940’s. It came directly out of the HMRC Offices at Sutton Coldfield. The sign is painted on to a layer of bakelite and then mounted on wood. The painted wooden frame is completely original, along with the rear fixings for mounting. We literally took it off a wall.
The lettering is really sharp and perfectly coloured. Some marks on the back board but all very minimal and photographed for accurate condition representation.
We think it now carries the perfect mix of aged patina and condition for a very cool and very stylish piece of wall art. Hang or display wherever you wish.

An original mid Century (1950-60) Cloaks sign, painted on black card and framed in a black wooden frame with gold edging. The lettering has been painted over quite crudely and relatively recently (not by us). Though it would have painted over the original lettering.
We think it now carries a good look. Naive/ crude folk art style but a good piece of unique wall art. Hang or display wherever you wish.

This would have original been on a school wall, railway station, waiting room etc. Very nicely aged now with hand painted black background and off white lettering. £0An original No Smoking sign hand painted on mirrored glass. We estimate it is late 1960’s to early 1970’s and would have hung in a pub or restaurant. We love the style, colours and condition of this. It is already fantastic but will age just perfectly.
It has been framed in a dark oak frame which looks original from the age of the tape on the back. Could easily be re-framed but we think the current frame adds to the character and will also age up very nicely. A super addition for home or commercial use. Character and style!
