A simply stunning early 20th century, index card cabinet in oak. It was manufactured by LibraCo who were probably the most well known and one of the highest quality producers of these index card cabinets for libraries, schools, Government offices etc. This gorgeous cabinet is presented came to us directly from Oakham Private School in Rutland (England’s smallest county!). It is presented in its original oak frame work with superb quality carpentry. All of the perfectly aged brass handles and label holders are present and original. The drawers are mounted on a later made solid oak stand.
These drawers are often used as wine, gin etc stores as each drawer nicely holds one bottle. Time to stock up early this year to avoid any horrible December short supplies?

It can hold 50 bottles of wine or your favourite tipple or has many other uses.

We just love the flexibility, practicality and style of this vintage pigeon hole shelving unit. It is made from original 19th Century hardwood at the sides, frame and top. The wood finish is a beautiful aged colour and patina, giving the piece bags of unique character. The central pigeon hole dividers are a modern addition – but are solid wood. We refinished the central sections in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue to give it a unique and contemporary up-style. We have styled and shot it as a shoe/ hallway rack but it could equally be an open bookcase, wine rack, drinks unit, media unit etc. The piece is antique and vintage so there will be imperfections and signs of wear. Amazing condition and style for its age but it is not new. Please check all photographs for the condition.
The piece is very heavy and does not disassemble easily, so please measure doorways and access points carefully before making a purchase. Delivery will be in one piece.

It is made from galvanized steel, which has now coloured and aged perfectly. It also has two doors that are lockable with a padlock, should you require. We have styled it as a wine rack holding just one bottle in each pigeon hole, two bottles could be stored in each section if needed. It could also be a great shoe store/ tidy, bookshelves or CD store; or many others uses that you may need.

It is made from galvanized steel, which has now coloured and aged perfectly. There were no bottoms to the individual pigeon holes so we added bespoke wooden shelves to give the piece a huge range of uses. We have styled it as a shoe/ hallway rack but it could equally be a wine rack, drinks unit, CD store, children’s toy tidy etc. There are fixing points to secure the unit to a wall should there be small children in the family.
Most of the original enamelled number tags are present within the pigeon holes. An industrial vintage piece but very stylish and chic at the same time. A stunning mid Century (c 1950-60) index card cabinet. 42 Teak fronted drawers with bespoke turned teak handles. The piece is very heavy but does come apart at the middle (splits in to two) for easier transportation.
This piece weighs approximately 80kg – reflecting the quality of manufacture and the expense when new. One drawer handle had to be replaced due to damage. All 56 drawers fronts and internals are original. All internal drawers are solid 12mm thick pine with quality dovetail joints.
In excellent vintage condition this is certainly a statement piece of furniture for a room that needs that wow! We have shown how amazing this would be as a drinks/ wine rack but there are plenty of other uses for collectors, commercial display/ storage, socks, ties, scarves etc etc.
A real piece if mid Century quality that will gain lots of attention and comments.

£0A truly exceptional large index card cabinet dating from the 1930’s. We were told that this came from a Bank, where it spent it’s life from new.
At 172cm tall with solid, thick oak frame and drawer fronts this piece weighs approximately 100kg – reflecting the quality of manufacture and the expense when new. Two drawer fronts had to be replaced due to damage. All 58 other drawers, fronts and label holders are original.
In excellent vintage condition this is certainly a statement piece of furniture for a room that needs that wow! We have shown how amazing this would be as a wine rack but there are plenty of other uses for collectors, commercial display/ storage, socks, ties, scarves etc etc.
We have not seen another like this one and it will surely appreciate in value due to it’s size, quality, and scarcity.
