A pretty rare early 20th Century steel filing cabinet by Milners (later to become Harvey Milner). With the superb heavy handles we estimate that it dates to around the early to mid 1950’s. The filing cabinet, handles and label holders are all original and present. Three of the drawers have their original suspension file cages and the bottom drawer has a sliding stay. Very good original condition for its age and much rarer than most of the vintage filing cabinets made by Roneo, Stor and Art Metal. Milner distinguished their industrial steel furniture by their quality and weight – often seen as the Rolls Royce of filing cabinets at their peak. For this reason Milner seem to have a dedicated following to match other pieces of their steel furniture such as desks, tall cabinets etc.
Industrial style and practicality all rolled in to one. Cabinets of this age by Milner are rarely seen. An industrial style investment!

The cabinet and drawers have all been fully cleaned and the runners re-oiled. The drawers will hold A4 suspension files and still have the side rails present. The handles and label holders are all original and present, along with the working lock and key.
Superb condition and much rarer than most of the vintage filing cabinets made by Roneo, Stor and Art Metal. Milner distinguished their industrial steel furniture by their rounded edges and corners. Much more difficult to produce than straight and square edges. For this reason Milner seem to have a dedicated following to match other pieces of their steel furniture such as desks, tall cabinets etc.
Industrial style and practicality all rolled in to one. Cabnets of this age are very rarely seen in this condition. This one came from the estate in Rutland.

This chest was owned by the Earl of Gainsborough in Oakham where it stayed all of its life, until now. A very nice size for home or office. The cabinet and drawers have all been fully cleaned and the runners re-oiled. The drawers will hold A4 suspension files and still have the side rails present. The handles and label holders are all original and present. There is also one key (more can easily be ordered from the internet should you need a spare).
