A very stylish 1960’s bookcase in teak and glass by Avalon Furniture. The bookcase is a very useful size and in lovely vintage condition. Both shelves are height adjustable or easily removable. All four glass doors are original and slide as they should. The bookcase has a very useful depth too at 30.5cm.
We think the piece offers lots of flexible storage capabilities as a bookcase, drinks cabinet, display unit etc. It can easily be accommodated in to living, dining or bedroom styling. Fantastic and highly desirable mid century styling at such a great value for money price.

An excellent example of an original mid century glazed bookcase, produced by Staverton in the 1950’s and 60’s. It is produced from high quality radial cut English oak and oak veneer with ply internals and section dividers. All of the glass is complete with no cracks. The condition is excellent for the year. It has been gently and sympathetically brought back to its best by us, without over restoring and stripping all of the patina and character away. It is in exceptional condition for the age with beautiful colour and natural patina. Please see photographs.
With it’s simple lines, quality of oak and carpentry it is a beautiful vintage classic. These glazed Staverton bookcases are pretty rare now. Our pricing research could only find one other for sale at £1499 plus delivery costs.

A very stylish 1960’s bookcase in teak by Beaver & Tapley. The bookcase is a very generous and flexible size, lovely vintage condition. The piece has a nice weight, being constructed from teak hardwood. The shelves are also solid teak with a nice knife edge detail. The shelves are height adjustable or easily removable. All four glass doors are original and slide as they should.

An excellent example of an original mid century low glazed bookcase/ unit/ in teak, with original glass and wood sliding doors. Produced around the mid to late 1950’s this is a very nice example from the Herbert Gibbs Autograph range. A great size, super colour with original adjustable shelves and original glass. The doors are completely original too.
It offers lots of mid Century style and very flexible storage capabilities as a bookcase, drinks cabinet, etc. It can easily be accommodated in to living, dining or bedroom styling. A pretty unique and rather lovely oak bookcase dating from around the 1960’s. It retains all of its original glass doors and solid oak shelves internally. The bookcase shows good quality production and materials from its weight and finishing touches. The shelf edges have detailed edges, again showing some quality design and finish. Below the glazed section is a very useful solid door cupboard, to store away the more unsightly but necessary things. Internally the bookcase is in exceptionally clean condition.

Even the shelves are made of thick solid oak. Each shelf is height adjustable via the side support system. Simply move the side supports to the place you want them and reinsert the shelves. A very rarely seen matching pair of 1960’s bookcases in teak. The bookcases were produced in the 1960’s as part of Herbert Gibbs Gold Label Autograph range. The plate remains to the rear for provenance. The colour is what makes them rare. Teak bookcases by Herbert Gibbs are normally darker than this. This is the first pair of bookcases we have seen, by Herbert Gibbs, in this light a shade in almost ten years. The frame is beautifully coloured and aged teak with a knife edge detail. All of the glass doors are original. We couldn’t bare to split them but will if they are not bought as a pair in the coming weeks. Perfect for alcoves?
