This very stylish old school gym bench dates to around the late 1960’s to early 1970’s and came to us from a school in North Staffordshire where it spent its whole life. It has all of the fantastic old school/ gym style in a perfect size for home. It is completely original throughout, constructed form steel box section frame with iroko and teak used for the hooks board and seat respectively. It is very clean and in great condition for its age but has wear to the metalwork which is all original and gives the piece its authenticity.
A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement.

Constructed from thick wall steel box section and beech it is solid, has a good weight and is a fantastic piece of original old school styling . These school drawers dates to around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s. They are a stunning example and very rare to be still in their original condition and finish. Esavian – ESA – was the brand name for the Education Supply Association Ltd. They produced a lot of Post War school and industrial mid century furniture. Most people know the furniture from school as a lot of it was produced in the 1950s and 60s. James Leonard designed a lot of the ESA beech and ply furniture.
These drawers are in exceptional original condition both in the beech framework and the original lacquered finish. The drawers have been later mounted on good quality steel hairpin legs (as found). Internally the drawers are clean (some faint pen marks etc to be expected). They would make a fantastic TV stand!
These are incredibly popular drawers and we are finding it harder and harder to get them. Every time we manage to find a set they fly out to another very happy customer.

These gym benches date to around the mid to late 1980’s and came to us straight from a school in Leicestershire. A good size in both length and depth means the shoe tray can comfortably fit adult size shoes, as well as taller ankle boots. Steel legs and tray with a good solid beech slatted top means the bench has a nice solid weight and feel to it – not like modern reproductions. These benches already look great but just age up even better.
The benches have all the superb old school styling you could want and a really good size. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement. We have a number available in this size, one at 240cm width and one at 260cm width. If you wanted a bespoke width please get in touch.
We also have lot of original mid century gym hooks in stock (original black or chrome ones from the 1970’s and 80’s, mid Century painted ones, mid Century stripped ones, numbered, on back boards etc. etc.). This gym bench dates to around the late 1950’s to mid 1960’s. It came from a school in Solihull. The bench is completely original but we refurbished the top as it was all stained and peeling of varnish. We kept as much of the original wear and colour as we could. It retains a beautiful colour and now has a nice clean sheen too. We also re-sprayed the legs as they were all paint splashed in white paint. The baskets retain all the signs of decades of use and wear – again perfectly aged to show their authenticity. All the perfect old school styling ready for a contemporary new home.
These are very popular benches and we are finding it harder and harder to get them like this. Every time we manage to find one it flies out to another very happy customer.

This bench is mid Century, circa 1960’s from and old school/ gym changing rooms. The bench is well made, by hand, with dovetail joints to mark the quality of construction and to give a solid sturdy seat. The shoe baskets are made from thick grade galvanised steel with the perfectly aged colour and wear. The bench is a great size and has a really good weight to make it useable for everyday use in a hallway, entrance, boot room etc. It could even be a wine rack with a difference?! Or a TV stand too.

This bench is an old school/ gym bench with original shoe baskets below. It dates to around the 1960’s but we had to make up some new steel legs as the original ones were rusted and had no rear legs, due to being fitted over radiator pipes. It is of good heavyweight construction with a solid beech slatted bench top, steel legs and galvanised shoe baskets. We love the style and quality.
