We adore this lampshade. It is from circa the mid to late 1960’s and hand made from bamboo. It also comes with a spare glass shade (see photo). The condition is fantastic for its age and is completely original. With a 54cm diameter it offers real presence too. It could be used as a ceiling shade or equally added to a floor lamp to make a superb statement piece. Style and original vintage coming together superbly! All conditions are shown in the photographs, so please view closely. We would recommend a new rose and installation by a qualified electrician (as with all light fittings).

A truly stunning original Mid century large scale industrial light, directly from a factory closure in St Albans. The shade is in outstanding original condition with no dents, chips or cracks. It is in perfectly aged green enamel finish, exactly as it would have been when produced but now mellowed perfectly with age. The light stands out from the many shades out there due to its condition, and having its original dome shade protector on the bottom – spring loaded fastening and stamped BENJAMIN. The light has been fully stripped, cleaned, re-wired with a 3 core black twisted fabric cord and tested. Hang it directly from its hook or add a chain of your colour/ finish choice to create the full drop you need.
We have two very nearly identical lights. This one has a partly black gallery in original paint (see photographs). The other light has a full silver gallery – see other listing.

An original 1950’s photography lamp by Smith-Victor. This lamps is a rare find as the lamp head and stand are completely original and in excellent condition for their age. We bought this lamp form a dealer in the US and had it sent over, we loved it that much. The stand offers lots of flexibility over height adjustment and the head swivels and tilts to get the exact lighting you are looking for. The bulb is a standard fitting so you can choose a squirrel cage, LED etc for the look and colour you want. The light is switched on and off at the head with a simple push switch on the lamp holder.
Simply plug in and add very stylish lighting to any room. We adore the overall look and uniqueness of what these lamps have been used for and seen – who knows what subject matter they have photographed!

An original Photax photography lamp. The lamps dates from around the 1950’s to 1960’s and were widely used by professional photographers during the mi 20th Century (David Bailey peak era). The lamps and stands are completely original. Showing great signs of age and patina to the shade with a few small marks/ dings but nothing significant – purely cosmetic. Excellent original condition for their age and previous life.
The shades can be positioned to the angle you prefer and the stands are fully height adjustable. Simply plug in and add very stylish lighting to any room. We have a matching pair available, should you want a pair to position either side of a sofa or feature wall or headboard etc. Or obviously they can be split up and used in different rooms.
We adore the overall look and uniqueness of what these lamps have been used for and seen – who knows what subject matter they have photographed!

An original pair of rare Smith-Victor photography lamps. These lamps dates form around the 1950’s to 1960’s and were produced in the USA by world renowned manufacturers Smith-Victor. We took the shades and stands and gave them new swivel and tilt adjustable heads. We then added a vintage style lamp holder with switch on the holder gave them a full re-wire with a complementary grey fabric retro style cable (a full 3 metres for each lamp). These updates all match the mid Century style of the lamps but brings them bang up to date.
The shades can be positioned to up-light or tilt and the height of the lamps can be adjusted from a height of 123cm, right up to 210cm! Simply plug in and add very stylish lighting to any room. They can be used as a pair, either side of a sofa or feature wall or headboard etc. Or obviously they can be split up and used in different rooms but we wanted to keep them as a pair for the lucky new owner to decide how they would use them!
There are some signs of wear and a few ‘dings’ to the shades but they are still spherical with exceptional paintwork and original labels still fully in tact. The stands are in excellent condition with only aged patina that we wanted to keep rather than fully polish to look like new. We adore the overall look and uniqueness of what we have created!
