This gym bench dates to around the mid 1960’s and came to us from Mount Kelly private school in Tavistock, Devon. It is in super original condition with really true and square shoes baskets. Most of the baskets get bent or broken over the years but this one is in really good, straight condition, with perfect aged patina to the metal work. We fully cleaned the piece. It has all the original style and character but ready for another 60+ years of use.
These are very popular benches and we are finding it harder and harder to get them like this. Every time we manage to find one it flies out to another very happy customer.
A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement.

This gym bench dates to around the late 1950’s and came to us straight from a school near Norwich. It is a rare find having the outer frame surrounding the original wire shoe baskets. We fully cleaned the piece and gently restored the framework. It now has all the original style and character but ready for another 60+ years of use.

This gym bench and baskets dates to around the late 1960’s to early 1970’s and came out of a Leisure Centre in Nottingham, where it had been since they opened in the late 1960’s. Great solid weight and quality to the original steel legs and mahogany top. It is in completely original condition. We just gave it a good clean, oiled the legs and baskets then teak oil to the bench top for replenishment and refresh. The front legs do have rust to them at the bottoms (as photographed) but they are stable and perfectly fine. We just didn’t want to replace them, as they are the original legs. And original is very rarely the best option when it comes to antique and vintage pieces.
This bench has all the superb old school styling you could want and a really good size. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement.

This gym bench and baskets dates to around the 1970’s and came out of a school in Wisbech. Great solid weight and quality to the top, with black powder coated shoe baskets below. We had to add new legs t the bench as the original ones were rusted and cut to fit over radiator pipes. The legs are steel and have been sprayed in a gloss black, to tie in with the baskets. This bench has all the superb old school styling you could want. A perfect way of tidying up a hallway or entrance whilst adding a real style statement.

Beautiful quality, colour and finish to the original mahogany top and gorgeous natural wear to the galvanised steel shoe baskets below. This bench has an unusual design to make it different and stand out. It also has a very useful backrest to prevent marking the walls when leaning back. This gym bench and baskets dates to around 1950-60 and came out of a school in Solihull. Beautiful quality, colour and finish to the original Iroko top and gorgeous natural wear to the galvanised steel shoe baskets below. A really good size and weight to be a super stylish and practical piece at home now. We had to add new legs to this bench as the old ones were rusted through and needed to be fixed to the wall. No good for ease of use at home. The new legs are a good weight steel box section, sprayed gloss black. Very in keeping and just like the originals in size and style. The legs also have plastic end caps/ feet to stop any scratching on floors.
We had various sizes and styles old school/ gym/ locker room benches available with rows of four or five baskets wide. We also have 1970’s later baskets which are black powder coated. We can also change the colour of the legs if you have a specific colour scheme you would like to match to.

This large gym bench and baskets dates to around the early 1960’s and came out of Mount Kelly private school in Tavistock, on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. Beautiful quality, colour and finish to the original top and gorgeous natural wear to the galvanised steel shoe baskets below. A really good size and weight to be a super stylish and practical piece at home now. We had to add new steel legs as the original fixings were screwed to the wall. These legs now make it portable, easier to accommodate and use, whilst retaining the original looks.
