A stunning example of an early 20th Century solid oak ‘Captains’ chair. This chair was not a Captain’s chair but a station master’s chair. It was salvaged from a destiny in a skip! The chair was the station master’s chair at Ely station in Cambridgeshire. It is constructed from heavy solid oak with a very Art Deco punch hole design ply seat centre. The chair swivels through 360 degrees. It is stamped to the underside with LNER, showing its provenance.
A very solid, stylish and timeless chair that will just get better with age.
