A very stylish late 19th Century Victorian glazed dresser / bookcase in original mahogany finish. It dates from around 1880 to 1900 and has original cabinetry, glass, wooden handles, lock and key. This came from a private Client home in Amersham, Buckinghamshire where it lived form new, owned by the same family in the same house. We fully cleaned the whole exterior then repainted the top internal section with Farrow & Ball Wevet colour paint. This has given the piece the mix of antique, rustic and contemporary. It is very stylish, subtle in design and very flexible in the colours – to match a vast array of room palletes. The colour is superb having aged beautifully over the last 120 years+. There is one small old repair to the left hand side of the top section. Please see the photograph. Clearly a professional repair (approx 5cm x 4cm) but there is colour variation to the wood.
We think it would also make a fantastic and individual kitchen / diner cabinet or a bookcase/ dresser. The piece splits in to two sections for ease of transportation and siting. The bookcase stands at 240cm tall so please check your ceiling heights carefully before purchasing. This is an impressive size that will certainly commands lots of attention.

£0FREE Shipping on this piece. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A very stylish and unique 19th Century Victorian glazed dresser in old painted pine. It originally dates from around 1860 to 1880 and has been painted many years ago (we estimate the last paint to be 1920’s-30’s). It was originally a dresser/ linen cupboard but then later converted to a wardrobe with a hanging rail and hooks added. We glazed the doors and converted it back to a dresser as we think it has perfect rustic country style appeal and so much fantastic storage for a kitchen. The piece splits in to two sections for ease of transportation and siting. The bottom of the dresser has the most fantastic deep drawers for storing place mats, cutlery box, party games, towels, tea towels or whatever else you need.
Please note this is over 130 years old and obviously carries chips to the paint, old cracks etc. However, it is a very heavy and solid piece constructed from antique thick pitch pine throughout. We have photographed everything to try and show its true condition, so please examine the photographs closely and just ask, should you need more photographs or a detailed condition report. All marks are part of its history and add to the rustic appeal and original character of the piece. Perfectly imperfect!
Superb rustic chic charm.
Dimensions: 203cm High, 132.5cm Max Width, 56.5cm Max Depth (top cornice), Max internal storage depth of top section 45cm
Please note this is a very heavy piece requiring a dedicated two man delivery team. Delivery will be to ground floor only. Should you require delivery up or down any stairs, please contact us for a delivery quote.

A very stylish 19th Century Victorian glazed dresser / bookcase in original mahogany finish. It dates from around 1870 to 1890 and has original cabinetry, glass, upper section lock and key. The lower section has a secret serpentine drawer with two door cupboard below. The corbels are very well carved. The dresser is in original condition with some signs of old repairs and a few ‘dings’ here and there. It is good condition for its age with all joints solid and all four doors opening freely on their original hinges. A very attractive Victorian glazed bookcase in mahogany veneer. We adored the lines on the doors and the overall size of this piece. The original internals were in a very poor state though. We therefore refinished all of the inside with Farrow & Ball Wevet Estate Eggshell. This completely freshens up the bookcase, accentuates the lines of the doors and gives the piece a whole new look and lease of life. The glass is original and the original lock and key are present. Please check all photographs for the current condition.
A previously very tired Victorian bookcase now looking contemporary, stylish and offering great vale for money.

£0FREE Shipping on this piece. More remote and rural locations will incur a charge.
A truly stunning early 20th Century glazed bookcase / dresser in perfectly aged mahogany. It dates from around the early 1900’s to 1920 and has completely original cabinetry, glass, internal brass hardware and stunning handles. The bookcase originally came from a Headmaster’s office in Halifax, West Yorkshire. It was bought by a traveling salesman and has been owned for the last 50 years by the same family. The dresser is in excellent original condition for its age with all joints solid. The brass ware is amongst the best we have come across. Each door handle knob turns to release its catch. Unusual for a bookcase, and a sign of the quality of manufacture and cost when produced.
The piece was likely commissioned for the Headmaster by T.Simpson & Sons of Halifax. Simpson & Sons is a well know maker and pieces by their hands now command very high prices. It has one significant cosmetic point to note. A scratch on the upper section of the bottom cupboard. Purely cosmetic and could be filled and polished out, should you wish.
We think it makes a fantastic dresser but could equally be a sunning kitchen/ diner cabinet for glasses, crockery etc.
It des split in to two sections for delivery and transport but will require a dedicated two man delivery team.
Dimensions: 211cm High, 137.5cm Max Width, 52cm Max Depth (bottom), 36.5cm Max Depth top section (at the top cornice)
