This is a beautiful late 19th Century church pew made from antique pitch pine around 1880-1900. The condition of the pew is very good and the whole bench is structurally sound with no joint movements. The colour is perfect as is the overall patina and feel of the pew.
The quality of the backrest makes this pew stand out head and shoulders from all other pews. It has been reupholstered in a deep red aniline leather with very high quality button back upholstery work. The leather is of a high quality thick grade and is in excellent condition, save for a couple of superficial marks. No tears, rips or cracks. We gave the pew and leather a good clean and treated the leather with a quality leather moisturising cream to bring out the beautiful colour and finish.
We think this would makes a beautiful hall or dress bench. A piece which will surely gain lots of comments.
This is a stunning antique bench with stand out quality that will just keep getting better and better.
