An original chest of generously proportioned and well made Victorian drawers in mahogany. The drawers date from around 1850-70 and are presented in a three graduated configuration. The chest comes complete with their original solid mahogany turned handles and sits on a wonderful serpentine base. All three drawers are exceptionally clean inside and run as they should. drawer liners could be used if you prefer.
We love the beautifully grained wood, the serpentine base and the practicality of these drawers. Gorgeous!

An original chest of generously proportioned and well made Victorian drawers in mahogany. The drawers date from around 1850-70 and are presented in a two over three configuration. The chest comes complete with their original solid mahogany turned handles and shield shape veneer inserts still in tact and present. We stripped the sides and top of the chest due to veneer damage and refinished in Farrow & Ball Off Black with a clear wax finish for protection. We kept as much of the original veneer by leaving the drawers in tact for contrast against the black paintwork.
We love the beautifully grained wood, the contrast with the paint and the fully finished effect. Transformed from dowdy and damaged ‘brown’ to a contemporary classic that will adapt and fit with a plethora of interior styles. The storage is very generous and all five drawers are very clean. We have shown the drawer internals as they are in their sanded and original state. Clearly drawer liners could be used if you prefer. This chest of drawers could be used in practically any room you needed them.
